She pretty much drank herself out of school in the first semester. She was a Phi Mu and passed out in the front lawn in the first few weeks. We got in a huge fight one gameday and she drank herself into a stupor and fell down a flight of stairs. That pretty much ended us. I think we both cheated on each other the entire time.

Had thesame sort of relationship my fresh year at UAB (weird) she was on another sports team and was sheltered as hell moving to Bham and it blew her frickin mind, couldn't stay off some kind of alcohol, beautiful girl, it was sad, it crushed her when we broke up and she eventualy transferred to another smaller school in a LOT smaller setting and graduated with no problems

Terrell Pryor. That mother fricker unsnapped his helmet walking back to the huddle every play and then snapped it back up right before the snap. shite drove me crazy.

About the rule: what happens if your at the bottom of the pile and somebody rips your helmet off, and the refs miss it. I can foresee this getting tricky.

What are they filling the cattle watering trough with in the front yard at the Phi Mu house these days?

yah I don't like it at all, but for sure all players will have to get resized and strap both straps, and it makes the helmet tighter very tricky

Ah man, that reminds me of a story (just the UAB and sheltered part) that I read where this 14 year old genius girl graduated early from HS and went to UAB and the whole football team pretty much ran through her until her parents found out and dragged her home. She flunked out of school I think. This happened around 03 or so. Crazy story. Shows even if you're scholastically ready for a situation you're not always emotionally ready.

The hard shell chin straps do not fit as snug as the soft ones. The equipment managers may opt for longer face masks and the softer chin straps.

I remember that story. It was pretty bad.

Have you seen the NFL round table from some older [layers where they talk about no helmets and how it is just tuning the head into a missile, and going back to leather very interesting discussion I thought

But I agree all wouyld likely have to wear soft ones to stay on easier, but only one strap will likely not be seen anymore I'm guessing

Could anyone see an early signing period happening?

I think it will happen eventually. Saban is a big proponent.

Gonna go watch more, but from what I've gathered :

- Much better in zone than Vernon, reads the QB like a pro.

- Takes good angles whether it be in run support or in kick coverage

- Good ball skills to go with great hands. First few plays I watched he picked off the ball.

- His man to man coverage doesn't seem quite as good as Vernon's, but it's definitely only a step behind, whereas his zone is far better than the Third's.

- Fantastic instincts. Watching him makes me think of a Kirkpatrick/Mathieu hybrid.

- Good hips

I also read something :

He had previously been on Saban’s informal top 20 watch list. On Monday, Coach Pruitt came to get some current film on Johnny and after Saban reviewed the tape, he told Coach Pruitt “We are moving his arse to the top 6.” Those are the exact words that Coach Pruitt repeated to Coach Freeman at Spanish Fort High.

I wore one of the Hard shell straps for about a week after getting my chin split open. Hated those things.
