That's the word on MSU boards.

I don't think that's true, especially considering Bama already has a TE committed and another close to doing so. Bama only has 1 LB committed and only 1 more that's a potential commitment out of 3 LB spots he could play.

I don't really see how he'd be playing in his brother's shadow at LB. And he'd still be in the SEC if he went to MSU, so he'd always be referred to as Barrett Jones' little brother.

Also, with Bama signing a big class last year, how many spots do yall have for this year???

Full class.

I'm looking at the Alabama roster, and there would have to be a lot of processing done...

I only see, like, 9 total Seniors on this year's team. I know some will enter the NFL Draft early, but there's still a ton of players that would have to transfer or give up on football.

I have no problem with processing. Let the best man win

There will be more attrition this summer and that will put us below the 85 limit this year and thus give us more spots for next year's class. Also, some of the 25 we sign in February will be greyshirts if the numbers get tight.

So why hasn't he committed to Bama already then???

Just curious

Same reason Nkemdiche hasn't.

Nkemdiche has a TON more offers on the table than Jones.

Plus he is the number one recruit in the nation.

And they're both enjoying the recruiting process just the same.

He wants to take his time I guess. He may end up at State, but I don't think it will be simply because he doesn't want to be "in his brother's shadow".

Now if he sees 2 TEs and 2 LBs committed as threats, he may not go to Bama. I'm sure Bama has a place reserved for him if he wants it, whether it be a greyshirt or not.

It's just up to him what he rather do...

Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart visited Marietta, Ga., cornerback Brendan Langley recently to check in with the three-star defensive back. Langley has long been a key target for the Crimson Tide, as the 6-foot-1, 185-pound corner reminds Smart of a recent Alabama standout at the position.

"He said I remind him a lot of Dre Kirkpatrick," Langley said. "He likes my size. He says I'm a little bit faster, but size wise and where we play on the defense we are a lot alike."

Langley said he was extremely flattered with all the attention the Alabama staff has given him so far in the recruiting process. The interest goes both ways though, as Langley is impressed with what he sees from the Alabama defense.

"The most intriguing part would probably be how close their defense is like to an NFL defense," Langley said. "I get that extra head start at the NFL if I was going to go there."

Depending how his schedule goes this week, Langley said he could visit the UA campus as soon as this weekend. The speedster said it all just depended upon how his track schedule worked its way out, but he is excited to make the visit.

"I just want to continue to get the feel of the campus," Langley said. "I've been there a couple of times, like on A-Day and I feel comfortable there."

Langley has had the chance to talk with current Alabama recruits and players, including current Alabama cornerback John Fulton, who encouraged Langley to commit.

"He just said it was a great place and I would be a great fit there," Langley said. "He really talked about their style of defense and how they play."

Langley named Georgia as his leader in the recruiting process, but said he also is highly considering Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina as well as others.

Although he is not yet sure where he is going to end up, Langley already has his announcement planned out. The talented defender said he plans to announce his commitment before his first high school game during pre-game warm-ups.

The most important aspect for the young corner is finding a school that will put him where he needs to be in the future.

"They tried to, and I don't want to say I didn't pay any attention, because I always pay the coaches attention," Langley said. "I'm not really worried about early playing time though. I just want to go somewhere where I could do something good in life. That's the only thing I'm really worried about-where I will be in four years."

Langley will have a busy summer, as he plans to make visits to Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, UCLA, USC and possibly Texas in the near future.

Yep, Harrison was originally going to greyshirt. When Alfy Hill got screwed by the NCAA it opened up a spot for Harrison to enroll. Could be a similar situation with Walker but that's just speculation.

No way he takes a Greyshirt over an offer from State

I think Jones may be enjoying the process but in no way does he have the leverage that Nkemdiche does. Nkemdiche could wait until the day camp starts in August and any school would take him, Jones has to be careful about spots filling up. Big difference. He will always have the backdrop of Bama taking him as a greyshirt but in no way can he "play the process" like Nkemdiche can. If Bama fills up and has no spot for Jones then he's out, Nkemdiche will always have a spot.

Don't take the opinion of the minority in our fanbase as the state of the entire fanbase. I'm sure you wouldn't want us to take the idiots in Bama's fanbase and judge the entire group based on their opinion. We could always lump you all into the Updyke category and that would be wrong and unfair to the rational guys like most on this board. Most of us are looking forward to November. We'll see if you guys can hang with our once a generation team like we did with you all's last year. Last year was Bama's target year and people were right as you guys were the better team. This year was always our target year and anything less than a national title will be considered a disppointment like last year was for you guys. It'll be fun as always to play you guys in November. Enjoy bragging rights until then.

Which is one of the biggest reasons I could see him going to State over Bama.

I guess I could have worded it better, but that is what I essentially meant. By no means does Walker have near the leverage that Nkemdiche has, but imo he does not have to rush his committment to Alabama either. I think Saban knows he can get Walker when he wants him and Walker is having fun being recruited as well.

I'm originally from Louisiana, so I know a ton of LSU fans, including some family members. The win in Jan. was big for me as far as bragging rights go. I certainly look forward to November as well.

Somebody on Wooly is claiming Reuben announced his 5 official visits today and one of them was to Hawaii?

I can't find anything on it. Have y'all?

I think someone posted that interview in here already. I know I read it somewhere. He said that he really loves to travel and wants to take officials to Texas, USC, and Hawaii because he wants to travel.
