I put some info on AHS's spring game against Stanhope-Elmore in the Auburn Recruiting Thread. Reuben Foster involved.

Then maybe HB. He looks to be very good with the ball in his hands. Maybe even a smaller flexible TE

I'm not saying he isnt a take, he obviously is. Just wish he would specialize in a position. At the rate we're recruiting we have 5*'s on the bench that have been playing their position for years. Sims comes to mind(yes I know they're nothing alike), but Sims couldnt play RB because of our elite depth there, same with safety.

Here's a post from Capstone on tidefans regarding Derrick Henry:

I know I can't post the interview, but he basically stated that Alabama put the best tools on the table to develop him for the next level.

Kinda reminds me of the whole debate over BPA and actual need in the draft. IF were not taking the full 25 like I read some where, then we need to be getting max value out of these guys.

And another post about Henry on tidefans:

quote:

According to that interview he just spoke with Saban and is being recruited as a RB. He actually goes in depth about it and what Saban said. He has stated if a team recruits him at any other position he will not consider them.

After watching 3 different vids of Henry, no doubt in my mind that he will never play RB at college

Sounds to me like he knows he may not be a RB in college, and even tougher to get the league at his size. So he thinks Bama can provide more positions to excel at to get there. i.e. LB, RB, TE, HB. Instead of being the best RB at another school and playing his whole career there, but not moving on to the league.

He's been overlooked on here and it's understandable, but I would really like to see Ulric Jones in this class. You can't teach size and he has it in buckets. I believe he hasn't played football long so his numbers are weak, but I think he has the potential to be a fricking stud. He is extremely athletic for his size and with proper coaching he could be a monster. If we take one player in this class thst classifies as a "project" I hope it's Jones.

He's not a RB, LB or TE either in college, what I saw on vid he is straight upright and bends at waist is pretty elusive and fast HUGE upper body strength and nice cutting ability, but needs a LOT of technique to stay at RB, honestly though his running style and athleticism looks like Julio 2.0 to me if you really watch his film the only question I have is how well he can catch because HS O doesn't throw to him AT ALL which is likely why he has that idea that he will be a RB and the staff very well recruit and sign him as RB but I would give it 3 weeks or less before he is switched to WR

Rather take him than another qb.

And Derrick Henry is not a RB. He is a ridiculous athletic specimen capable of playing LBer or H-back. Hell, given time he may actually grow into a beast DE. I don't think he switches to us, but he has the potential to be a very good player at multiple positions.

You and me both. I really want Ulric Jones. I don't give a shite about his ranking. I know people question his "killer instincts" but most publications said the same thing about LaMichael Fanning coming out of high school and now he is one of the future stars of our defense. I say take a chance on Jones.

If Brandon Jacobs can play RB in the NFL then Henry can for Alabama. Jalston Fowler is around 250 guys

To be honest, I would much rather have Jones than Poggi. I think Poggi has maxed out his potential, whereas Jones is just scratching his.

It's not a question of whether Henry can play RB or not. We already have two RBs committed that are better than him. If, and it's a doubt filled if, we can flip Henry he won't play RB. Fact.

Yes but I dont think he is that fast.
He also never really lowers his shoulder and he runs straight up. If there was film of him catching he would prob be a tight end recruit.

It's the height, not the weight. Fowler is 6'1, while Henry is 6'3.

Jacobs is a freak and is able to play with a low enough pad level to stay healthy and effective. Henry runs pretty straight up
