I’d pay good money for Joe Rogan or someone to put on a podcast episode interviewing Smith and Petrino

I don't know either- he definitely seems dumb but dumb could be fighting dumb or dumb can just be dumb and easily manipulated.

Texas deserves an upstanding coach with a strong moral fiber.

Thank god Hugh Freeze and Bobby Petrino are both still available.

And? It'd be different if Herman was wrong and Smith wasn't all the things he'd been tipped off to be - unstable, angry, a danger to his ex-wife, a dangerous employee violating multiple workplace rules.

I agree, the point is, why did he wait so incredibly long? Why did he only decide to out him after?

But you care enough to spread that information and condemn him for something you "think" he did.

Did he beat her or not? I just assumed everything was out that he did.

Put yourself in his shoes. You life is ruined over a recruit. You didn't beat your ex but she says he did. Yet he still has his kids etc... Maybe you should not be so quick to condemn him without knowing the facts.

So is he taking her to court? suing her?
I'm an average fan on a message board. I'm going to comment what I think/have heard via the internet.
If stuff comes out that he didn't, then he didn't and I'll apologize for condemning him.

But why was he fired then?

IMhO, "optics" mostly. You had the domestic violence charges and then there was a DUI thrown in.

I'm just an average fan, too. I don't think anyone knows the truth outside Smith and his exwife.

Her story is he beat her. His story is she went nuts on him, slapping him, screaming, etc.

If I recall correctly, he said the only time he touched her was to move her out of the way so he could remove himself from the situation, ie leave. I think both his family and her mother confirmed his side, more or less.

Okay gotcha.
Well this is where the "court of public opinion" comes into play.

And it sucks, but I feel like the majority thinks he beat her.

That said if this is the case and he didn't and is being said that he did/lost his job. He should be suing asap. That just my opinion.

He basically lost a job because of this.

Zach "Slapper Smith" is simply auditioning for a gig in pro wrestling.

If that doesn't work, he might find a McDonald's somewhere in Alaska that will hire him.

I think they had a very toxic relationship that obviously involved some altercations. I do not believe he “beat her” to warrant locking him away under the definition of domestic violence. They clearly had some issues, but he’s probably not a “criminal” per se.

His job and life got ruined. And he’s not going down without a fight.

Is he partially to blame for it all? Absolutely. But I can understand his frustration if he’s been labeled a “wife beater” because of Herman’s actions when he’s really not a “wife beater.” He just had a bad relationship that exploded and got made public.

He’s clearly got a few screws loose, but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit a part of me feels for the guy if some 3rd party (Herman) intentionally made a public mountain out of a private mole hill and ruined Smith’s career.

ZSmith is a psycho time bomb, the entire AD was on eggshells with this guy and his granddaddys protection. It's no coincidence he finally took a hit just a few months after Earle Bruce died.

The ex is nuts, but a drama queen vs an individual threat.

To my knowledge not. Therefore, I don't jump to conclusions.

They just got out of court. They all agreed, including her and the court, there was no threat of violence.

He paid a $150 fine.

Which is a problem in our society.

Just like all of the students who raised their hands in a "NAZI" salute in Wisconsin. Not a school event... Not on school grounds, but they are ruining 40 peoples lives over it and they don't even KNOW if that's what they were doing and it's not illegal!

Sure.. and that will get what part of his life back?

What if we start on you and make up things... You lose your job and in a few years we will ALL apologize.

See my point.

How did all of this start though?
As far as I know I’m a pretty boring guy. I’m not a public figure like Smith is so it’s tough to compare the two.

This other case Brett McMurphy had a pretty extensive story he released with pictures etc

So let me just lay this out.
Sorry if this is m wrong, just got to the desk it’s 6:50 and haven’t had my coffee yet but.
From what I’ve followed is Brett McMurphy released a large story about him beating his wife.
He had an extensive report of text messages between people, pictures etc.
Smith was tired because of this.

But, that’s now all fake. Is that correct?
