You can't say a "good chunk" of Florida fans have seen this. Do you think that over a million people are on forums, were even able to watch the game, and if they did, would they be proud to say that 1 of our players did this? There are all kinds of fans for every team...we the real boosters and alumni are not going to start a post about what we are ashamed of...It's hard to compare apples to oranges and put them in the same basket and sell them as bananas.

People can say what they want no matter how ridiculously stupid because this is the internet.
Didn't you know that if you have one player guilty of one dirty play that your entire program and fan base are full of thugs barely above the moral level of a banana republic dictator?

That crap went on throughout this entire game. I enjoyed watching my two least favorite teams do this to each other.
Yes, your precious Gators are a bunch of thugs.

spikes is dirty and uf has a combo of guidos and jersey wearers for their fanbase-fact

Thanks for reminding me Tiger...There are so many Judas's of the world judging that the masses are guilty for the one offender.
So many live in a glass house. It's nice to know that Windex is now safe for the environment.

i hope the son of a bitch gets caught in a crossfire while him and tebow are bumping uglies, or maybe stabbed to death

I was at the game, so I didn't see this until now, and I personally am disgusted by this sort of behavior. I like winning, but I don't like winning like a bunch of dumb thugs. It's gross and unnecessary.

I played football and never had my eyes gouged, was kicked a few times, punched in the side of the head, things like that but not the old eye gouge move.
I could put up with being punched on the top of the helmet, etc but if I was eye gouged I think I'd try to find the guy after the game, that's just ridiculous and I think the "oh this happens in the pile" argument is a bit overrated and probably used by some people who never actually played football.

I agree this was a dirty play. I'm watching the replay of the game and on the last play of the third quarter Tebow runs right and Akeem Dent tackles him and wraps his arm around his head and starts poking into his facemask. Tebow runs off the field and gets eyewashed. Lets be fair, it was uncalled for both ways, but it was going on both ways.

Is this how the coaches teach to tackle?
Posted on 11/1/09 at 10:29 am to nativetiger
I think that Slive is gonna take a close look at this, and, if he had balls, should suspend him for an SEC game.

jledet....you are the epitome of your kind....spikes didn't take a knife to the kid yet you wish death upon him.... you young man are what gives these forums a bad rap...to wish harm upon someone because somebody did something that was already bad makes you even worse than Spikes. You are an LSU fan and are eat up with the color "green".

Who cares, it is football. I am sure Dick Butkus never did anything like this, right?
Posted on 11/1/09 at 10:53 am to SabanIsAGod
I'm pretty sure there is a chance the SEC suspends him for a game for that... in basketball hitting someone in the balls is a suspendable offense...

after watching a replay at full speed, it's pretty clear that spikes was attempting to pull the football out but couldn't see what he was doing.
