Chavis defense in action. Thanks A&M.

The 2012 loss to Bama was second only to the 2014 loss to Bama in terms of utter agony. Chavis must be a genius to screw us twice that way. And don't forget Clemson in the 2012 Peach.

That or the illegal Bush push. We would have beat Chokelahoma's arse if Notre Lame could've held on.

I think this one is legit. UGA absolutely goes to the NC if they win that game, and I'm 90+% sure they beat ND. Not as badly as Bama did, but that ND team was pretty mediocre for a NC participant.

Gurley would've tore ND a new a-hole like Lacy and Yeldon did. Murray would've picked them apart like McCarron did. As far as hypotheticals go, this one is easy.

Yea and them along with all of us were 100% sure they were going to slaughter little ole Boise State in their own home town dome too.

Basically, they may have been the favorites against ND but no way anyone can say it was a gimme. Not with UGA

What a beautiful moment.

LSU would have to, for me, Bama in 2012 with TJ Yeldon.

We thought we had revenge in the bag and Chavis dropped his drawers and showed Nick where to stick it.

Boise was favored to win that game. Georgia would have been heavily favored against ND. I'm not too confident about a lot of things with UGA, but I'm pretty sure they would have utterly destroyed ND that year

Agreed. That 2012 Notre Dame has to be one of the worst teams to appear in the NCG

First, that was a different team. Second, Boise State was in the top five and UGA was somewhere like 19 or 20. It was a pretty bad loss and I don't remember being favorites even at home, but again, different year.

Notre Dame didn't have the same caliber of athletes to even compete with Alabama that year. Literally every SEC team they faced in the regular season other than Auburn put up a better fight.

Kelvin Benjamin's catch with :13 seconds left but really the play that lost us the game is when two of our defenders donkeyed into each other on a short curl route earlier in the drive that led to like a 50+ yard gain when it should have been stopped for like 7 and the clock running.
This. I think after that play every AU fan knew how the movie was going to end.

Close second was Hodson to Fuller in '88. That was probably the most talented team in AU history, and they would have finished undefeated, #2 in the polls, and would've likely run roughshod over Notre Dame for the NC if not for that loss.

Tee Martin to Peerless Price in the 1998 SEC Championship Game. State played well enough to shock the world that night in the Georgia Dome. Had shut the Vols down the entire game, took the lead late in the 4th quarter and then forgot how to play defense.

However, Miami hitting a line drive off of Gene Morgan's shoe in '85 cost us a national championship.

Personally, the Rod Gardner pushoff at Clemson in 2000 that wasn't called. Still can't believe they got away with that.

Conference wise, North making the luckiest catch of his life giving Tennessee a chance to kick the winning FG after Spurrier spent the entire 4th quarter trying to snatch defeat from the mouth of victory.
