It's not arbitrary at all. Read through the original thread. Mizzou and TAMU fans were the only ones to question the time frame in that thread, too. Learn your SEC history, suckas

1992 was the year the SEC expanded to 12 teams, split into divisions, and started playing a conference championship. Arguably the most important year in conference history.

That's pretty wild the amount of first rounders Saban has bought to Bama after having none for almost a decade.

Even though most have been busts. Saban is no doubt the greatest hype man in CFB history.

It's amazing how bad we were.

14 of the 16 are full time starters. Several Pro-Bowlers. That statement was silly

And to think there was a large segment of the fanbase that wanted to keep Shula...

OP might be the best Bama fan on the board. I won't even call him a gump.

That doesn't really have anything to do with this thread.

I just thought I'd go ahead and say it.

It's not arbitrary at all. The SEC expanded in 1992. The SEC title game began. Why are Missouri and Texas A&M fans the only ones to question this every time it comes up? Years from now both will use 2012 as a point of reference.

I am embarrassed for you.

Read the thread homie. Between the thread I linked and this one, it's been explained several times. 1992 is probably one of the least arbitrary time frames I could have selected.

How can there be so many people with so little knowledge of the history of their own conference? Maybe the TAMU and Missouri fans get a pass on this... But not South Carolina fans. Take a wild guess as to what year South Carolina played their first year of football in the SEC.
