With the pick six by Antonio Langham to pull Alabama ahead of Florida in the 1992 SEC Championship Game.
Will the 2012 BCS National Championship Game be the game that changed college football? A playoff might have been inevitable, but I feel like it accelerated considerably after Alabama got its rematch against LSU in 2011-12.

Not only did it guarantee the playoffs were inevitable, it all but ensured the BCS formula was going to be scrapped. The B1G was in danger of completely losing all relevance (remember, Urbs hadn't taken the OSU job yet). The playoff committee was formed for one reason and one reason only - to keep the Big Ten relevant. The northern sportswriters and broadcasters were tired of the SEC's string of dominance.
