Someone young, but not so young that his resumé is really thin. Like in his late 30s-mid 40s. Stable family situation. Background on offense with at least a couple of years as a playcaller at the P-5/NFL level, ideally having a track record of success with multiple QBs. Strong reputation as a recruiter. Relatively large network of contacts in the coaching community to be able to draw a quality staff from

Recruiting? P5 experience? Offensive background? Have a system? Organization? Reputation in coaching community? Ability to develop QB?
Obviously most of those things but I don't think P5 is a must but having a "system" along with QB development is a must. But you also have to be innovative
and be willing to think outside the box.
Spurrier in the 90's,Urban in mid 2000's and Saban now all brought a new way of doing things to the table and were able to adapt later in their careers.

head coach who, had experience building and maintaining a national power. The list was short and Jimbo was cheaper than Saban & Dabo.
Plus, A&M had no chance at Saban and Swinney
