Is Yella Fella behind the Auburn coup? He is one of Pat Dye's boys. I know in Tuscaloosa Paul Bryant Jr. was a troublesome booster for years, until Saban came and put him in his place. Now if the rumors are true, Harsin should face the consequences. But if this is a ruse to fire him for cause, and Raines is behind it...

They know that Harsin was a mistake hire and feeding this rumor gives them a better shot at firing him for cause. If their is one thing that Auburn is good at it’s this. They learned from the best in Tuscaloosa.

Auburn needs a Saban type to come in there and tell Yella Wood and Alabama Power to sit down. Now for selfish reasons I hope that never happens, and I enjoy the circus, but that is the only way to fix it down there. Obviously the Rane's and the Harbert's don't meddle in basketball, and look what happened. #1 team in the nation.

It doesn't always work out when you shut down a booster.
John Currie was Jimmy Haslam's toady. Haslam hand-picked Greg Schiano for UT. The UT fan base told Haslam to sit down and STFU.
Fulmer was brought in and hired Jeremy Pruitt. Everyone thought it was a homerun hire. Pruitt was long rumored to be Saban's heir apparent at Bama. Pruitt turned out to be a foul ball instead of a homerun.

Until the real powers that be at Auburn, meaning the Athletic Department and President, get the balls to put their collective feet down and tell the boosters to shut the frick up and quit meddling this shite will always happen.
Yes, they need their money. Yes, their money is important. But, if a group of people with more money than sense will destroy an athletic department because their egos got control of them or because they view it as some sort of fricking toy or hobby, there's nothing that can be done short of publicly taking back control of the program/department.
