Contracts with bowl games and what not

Lots of money tied up into Texas and Oklahoma, at the RRR, all kind of stuff. All of this stuff needs to be worked out way I. Advance….like UGA was supposed to play Oklahoma this year. But we “ducked them” lol because the SEC cancelled the game because UGA wasn’t going to get a return game from that OOC matchup. Georgia-Florida contract factored in. Schedule making throughout the conference…you see how it works when so many moving parts are going other places?

I wasn’t directing my post at you, apologies if it felt that way.
I’ve seen fans of Ole Miss, Missouri, UGA and especially LSU wring their hands over the situation and I find it ironic when all of those teams were either in or would’ve been right in the mix to be competing for a championship right now.
UGA in particular got screwed IMO. Easily one of the 4 best teams and with a little time to get healthy could’ve won a championship in a 12 team playoff.
Doesn't matter to me whether UGA or Bama went, as long as Ole Miss ended up in a NY6 bowl, which they did.
However, the vote not to expand the playoffs by Jim Phillips, now gone-Kevin Warren, and dead-commissioner-walking George Kliavkoff left all of these teams out that would otherwise be in:
Florida State
Georgia
Ohio State
Oregon
Missouri
Penn State
Ole Miss
That incredibly idiotic decision--which they made because the SEC did what each and every one of them had tried to do--cost at least 1 member of each of their leagues a shot at the playoffs. Because "the alliance" was led by the Big 10 to delay until they could get USC and UCLA in the fold, it cost the PAC its existence as a major conference; by essentially telling the ACC it's not good enough, it's on life support now too.
And you can't tell me if we're deciding on who goes to a playoff rather than who goes to the Corn Chip Bowl that Liberty--who played the worst schedule in FBS--would be in there ahead of SMU.
All this happened because 3 league commissioners were butthurt and one commissioner needed time to knife one of the other 2.

Kirby says they are pissed too. I believe him.
I hope so...the team took it to heart the year after losing to Texas and did not frick around with Baylor...but that was a totally different team. I hope those returning take it seriously...if nothing else the extra practices is always a good thing.

You say this...
...then spout off a bunch of bullshite.
You're quite literally describing the committee here. You know that, right?

All of those are playing in a bowl. Why the winners are not then playing the appropriate top 4 is beyond idiotic.

Good post Reb. I forget all what happened. I know it was delayed. I didn’t care back then. Still don’t want it next year, was just pointing out the hypocrisy in FSUs argument. Congrats on the new years 6 bowl!

Thanks. If we're expanding leagues to 16+ members, then playoff expansion is required. We're seeing why right now.
I think the playoff eventually expands to 16 teams, especially if ACC members start hitting the lifeboats to somewhere else.

Right. What was being proposed sucked arse. The 12 team playoff still sucks arse.
News at 11.
That still doesn't change the bullshite in your OP.

You disagree that if the ACC voted for it, that the 12 team playoff wouldn’t have been this year?
Posted on 12/6/23 at 2:41 pm to ugasickem
You understand that they didn't vote against expanding the playoff, right?
You sound like a fricking leftist politician

No I am correctly describing the alliance that prevented this playoff from starting a year early just to oppose Sankey on anything and everything.
