why are you bringing up LAST YEAR when he was a first year starter?
AJ won a National title as a first year starter. Played like shite against LSU, then came back and torched them in a championship game. Winner. Then, as a 2nd year starter, he won another one. I'll take clutch gamers over guys with comparable stats that choke anyday.

Guess again! If Mett comes into Tuscaloosa and outplays AJ and beats Bama, then we'll talk.

This isn't to down AJ , but he isn't a better qb than Mett this year. It's not debatable.

What a fricking homer.

I'm not gonna argue with you over this since you're a look at the stats guy, I'll just let you keep making a fool of yourself.

Ah, so Mett is going to be better in the NFL than college.. Awesome!

Probably. Quite a few players are better in the NFL than they were in college. You have to be in order to make it vs NFL competition.

Of course it is.. My point wasn't that Mett can't improve, it was that Manziel isn't going to necessarily regress. He'd kill it under Chip Kelly.

Vick is old and out of his prime. QBs like that don't last long. He has never been an above average passer either - something like 55% in college, 56% in pro.

Great athlete but his passing will not cut it at the next level. He gets away with a lot of wounded ducks at this level.

I think AJ could be a good QB at the next level in the right system, one where he can manage the game and be a field general. Mett could be the next great gun slinger in the NFL. Mett has the an arm like I've rarely seen but you can't argue with AJ's leadership and on the field results.

Not saying they will be AS successful, but it could be a Manning/Brady deal where Mett puts up gaudy numbers but AJ has a better W/L record and/or more rings.

I agree. His success comes to what team he's drafted to. If he is constantly under fire it'll kill his confidence (any rookie's confidence) immediately. He need at least a decent RB, and one decent WR.

Minnesota makes a lot of sense. They get a key defensive player in the first round, AJ in the second. He has the best back in the league, and some decent WRs to work with. The line is solid. Their D will get better.

I still maintain Cleveland is a GREAT place for him to land. Use one first round pick on the best CB on the board, and try to get a guy like Lee, Watkins, or Evans with the other. Pair that guy up with Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron, the CB you put with Haden almost completes their defense. Get a solid back later in the draft or in FA if one is there.

The Jag wouldn't have enough pieces around him, they'd be setting him up to fail.

I don't think the Giants are gonna give up on Eli just yet.

Tampa Bay may look for a QB, and they have some pieces and a defense that should be good and get better, but I don't think he'd be a great fit.

St. Louis and Pittsburgh are probably fine with their current QBs. Neither will Atlanta or Buffalo.

Houston might be drafting a QB, and if they think they've got AJ in the second then they draft an ILB or another WR, imo, with their first round pick.

Carolina won't give up on Cam after this year.

Tennessee might be a good fit. Chris Johnson, some decent young WRs, but I don't know how I feel about their D atm. He doesn't need a great Defense, but he needs a decent one. At least while he's young.

No to Philly or NY. No to NE, Denver, Indy, Washington, Seattle, and Miami.

Arizona has a good young defense, but they need more pieces on offense. If he didn't start right away and gave them a year or two to add players, then they'd be a good fit.

SD and GB are set at QB.

Dallas is happy with Romo, for whatever reason.

Balitmore, Chicago, and Cincy are probably not looking for a change.

Or any of the teams I haven't named such as KC, NO, or SF.

So yeah. Minnesota or Cleveland would be ideal for him.

It's not that he leads AJ in stats. He leads AJ in EVERY CATEGORY , except compl.% ( AJ's is 68 and Mett's is 66. The reason for the 2% is because Mett throws down field far more and his far superior yard per attend proves that). That the problem with some bama fans. There is no way you could have watched Mett and AJ play THIS YEAR and not see Mett is better than AJ. The first few game showed what AJ is when he doesn't have an eternity to throw the ball. I'm not saying AJ sucks by any means. He can make all the throws and is the most accurate qb in the sec.

ETA: I don't know why it's hard for bama fans to admit that Mett has been the best passing qb in the sec this year.he leads the sec in passing tds and yards and ha the least ints

It's not that AJ is bad when he doesn't have forever, it's anyone is bad when our OL was playing as bad as it was.

I think Mett being bigger than AJ and having a stronger arm makes him a much better pro prospect. He's almost as big and as strong-armed as Jamarcus was. Case closed as far as I'm concerned.

If Arizona does this, might as well grab Hill/Landry in the second and/or maybe Landry/Beckham, in the third. That's an offense ready out of the box.
