Wow! So players don't even have to attend classes on campus?

If you thought players were living the high life with NIL and the transfer portal, they apparently don't even have to go to classes on campus, either.
According to Deion, his son Shedeur has never had one in-person class on campus since he started his college career. I'm not a mathematician, but that's three years - 2 at JSU and 1 at Colorado! I'm also not a fortune teller either, but I suspect he's not the only player in the country doing this same thing.
I guess in this perfect world of college football, we are to believe all of these players - even though most can't read or write at a middle school level - are sitting behind their computers daily, unsupervised, watching lectures, taking notes, conducting research for papers and taking tests.
Sorry, it ain't happening. I've always known college football was extremely corrupt, but I never thought it would reach this level. I'm shocked that a player can now sign an athletic scholarship, never go to an on-campus class, never socialize with the student population, get paid a lot of money, only have to show up for practices/games and still be considered a student of that university.
Apparently, this unique, unorthodox educational path is working great for Sheduer. If you haven't heard, Deion's sons just purchased him a home for $7.2 million!

Do you think classes shut down as a whole in 2020? Everyone went virtual. Universities can now enroll more students than ever, take their money and provide a lower quality of education.

They didn’t go to college to play school.

The university is really a dinosaur, the idea that you have to go somewhere to get an education. You can learn anything you want online w/o having to go to college.

Never did at Georgia or Auburn.

It really is. Brick-and-mortar schools and education are becoming dated, highly inefficient, and too costly.
But it's much harder to make drunken college mistakes (experiences) at home on your own

Joe Burrow started this in 2019 before the China Virus.

Lets stop dancing around it and just admit that universities are poorly running a minor league football league so they can collect the profits.

I don't even think 2020 was what led to athletes mostly opting-out of being on-campus other than for team activities and work outs. Most of the big schools had robust online school options before 2020 and athlete steadily became a big consumer of the option for ostensibly "on-campus" students.

They're certainly not running it poorly since it's immensely profitable.

School administrators not wanting to have to deal with the logistical, legal, and payroll realities of admitting this fact: "NO!"

They might be making money but its highly questionable whether they are running it well in several areas.

I would have kept him off campus at JSU too due to the crime but a bit surprising at CU.

I totally agree. It's just sad that those in power even allowed this to happen in the first place.

Also a lot of the reason schools at the top break even or have budget surpluses is specifically because they’re not giving significant salaries to the talent that is bringing in the money. They compensate the players a fair deal but not primarily in direct cash.

They're certainly not running it poorly since it's immensely profitable for the top 15 or so schools. Frick the rest of those money losers, all 100 or so of them.

anything? how do you virtually inject 100's of mice with something? how do you measure soil qualities and apply needed amendments? how do you learn woodworking by watching videos?

Imagine being a college student and simply turning on a zoom call for your "class," How much do you think most students will actual pay attention to anything?
