And as for ".500" - the conference ALWAYS has a .500 record overall for conference games. That's just how basic math works and why 9 conference games is stupid.
But that year Alabama played the 11 of the 12 best teams the SEC had to offer. Alabama couldn't play itself. The 2 SEC teams we didn't play finished the season with a combined 2 wins.
So in reality, Alabama's schedule was those 11 SEC teams, the ACC champion and then the Big10 champion.

You had more fans attend the 2019 LSU Bama game in Tuscaloosa than the entire away schedule of Bama in 2020. That alone should discount that season. You had over 30 SEC player opt out of playing that year and OSU the team you played for the natty only played 8 games with only 2 being ranked.

Bill Connelly, whoever da fuq that guy is, has an opinion. I don’t agree with his opinion. He doesn’t take into account that most schools didn’t have a complete roster and had tons of opt outs. Alabama basically ignored COVID protocols other than Saban.
