Hines Ward is a truly a great man!! Knew he was a great football player. ESPN had a story about him and his work after football...AWESOME!!!

One of my favorites of all time. He played QB, RB, and WR at Georgia. He could do it all. I was overjoyed when he won the Super Bowl MVP for the Steelers. Truly one of the greats.

As a UGA grad and a Steeler fan from birth, he's a living legend to me.

He came in my Sophomore year and we would have been awful without him.... He was our only hope at QB.
He was also my neighbor at River Club. Good dude.

Word on the street is he wanted to be WR coach at UGA and Kirby passed on him because he didn't have much actual coaching and recruiting experience. If that's true, big mistake by Kirby.

Nah, he’s got to earn his stripes like everyone else

Other than George Pickens, what elite level WR's have we recruited since Kirby has been here? Could HW have brought in a few more?

Hard to see how he couldn't have. If anything else, Ward would be an excellent receiver coach. He outworked everyone at his position.

What all has he done? I knew he was a great man from some of the stories I have heard..but I have prob not heard all of them.

Mecole Hardman
Riley Ridley
Javon Wims
Jeremiah Holloman
Kearis Jackson
Dom Blalock
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Jermaine Burton
Ladd McConkey
AD Mitchell
Lawrence Cager
Zachariah Branch
Colbie Young
Demetrius Robinson
All were four or five stars and/or got drafted. HW has never recruited or coached at the college level at the time he wanted the job. He wasn’t qualified
at the time and he’s still not. His recruiting at ASU has been subpar. He’s one of my all time favorites but he’s not ready to be a coach at UGA

He should be in Canton. A lot less deserving than him already there.

Its probably incredibly challenging for him to explain to 18 year olds to just do what he did and get open. Thats like being mad at peyton for not having the ability to coach qbs to not see the play ahead of them

Bump
Georgia fans should take pride in having Hines Ward as a Bulldog!

Probably the best blocking WR I've ever seen.

I'm probably going to hell for this but I busted out laughing when he was talking about being teased, and all the black kids were calling him Bruce Leroy.
Hines is my favorite former Georgia player.

Agreed. Stats aren’t the only story. He was a holy terror on plays away from the ball too. OLBs and DBs were terrified of getting decleated by him.
