These beer companies build new student unions for schools if they let them sponsor. I think it's silly to turn down that level of investment just to tone down your image.

Yes, for multiple reasons. The main reason, which people don't really realize, is that it would actually make things safer. 'Whhaaaaaaaaaa????' you ask, yes...safer. Think about it. Right now, if people want to continue their buzz inside the stadium what do they do? They bring in liquor, often times copious amounts. Even if they don't, many people will get extremely drunk before the game knowing that it will have to last for 4 hours. If beer (not liquor, beer) was sold in stadiums, it would seriously curtail that. For one, it would drastically cut down on people bringing liquor into games, bc there would now be an alternative. Probably the 10 drunkest times I've ever been at a football games, it's been because I drank a lot of liquor inside the stadium that I snuck in.
Now I realize there is a flip side, and people who never drink in the stadium would now start. But I'm sure that just like everywhere else there would be huge markups and make the beer pretty expensive, so it's not like people would be buying 12 beers in there. Also, there would obviously be a cutoff, wherever the schools made it be it the 4th quarter, halftime, whatever.
People always say if we sell beer that people will just be getting DUIs and in fights left and right. Well, last I checked all NFL stadiums sell beer, and they sell beer at bowl games, and there isn't an inordinate amount of shenanigans going on there.
In addition to all of the above, schools could make a shite ton more money, and we all know that's a pretty big factor these days.

We had this discussion awhile back and I was surprised to learn that there's not actually an official rule in the SEC against alcohol sales. It's actually a verbal agreement between the members that they won't do so.
I know a few of the Big East schools actually eat a fine (they have an established rule against it) in order to have alcohol sales. And it's worked out just fine (even when West Virginia has been in town). Louisville made a ton of money off it that far exceeded the fine they paid to make the sales.
I just don't see it happening in the SEC though because of outside factors such as religious/social pressure to not have it. Even though schools would make a lot of money off of it and I'd certainly be all for it.
