If you aren't watching the NBA right now, I feel sorry for you. I can barely watch these college basketball games. Only march madness is why I give it the nod.
college basketball is pretty unbearable once you've been watching the NBA for awhile. It's really difficult to watch even good teams play.

Basketball. I didn't know people watched college football until I started posting here.

The ACC cares a lot about baseball. They have some very good programs. But, college baseball does seem to be popular only in the south.
Hell. Nationally, baseball attendance numbers are on par with hockey.

Is both an option? I'd like to win at both.
Personally, probably basketball, but I'd like to win at both.

When pro teams are drafting 17 year olds, it's hard for college baseball to have the same impact on the national consciousness as college basketball.
more and more players are going to college every year now. as a Vandy fan, you should know that. 6 of the top 10 picks this year were college players. There are also more and more highly drafted high school players not signing every year now. College baseball is on the rise, has been for awhile now. The people that attempt to pretend it's not or sadly mistaken

What's the smallest basketball arena capacity in the SEC?
What's the largest baseball stadium capacity in the SEC?
There's your answer.

I love college baseball but recognize that I'm in the minority. Really wish there was more support for the basketball program.
Always disliked the LSU baseball #hardcore fans who don't support the basketball team whatsoever.
So yeah there's my answer, kind of a silly question when you factor in the huge difference in revenue/exposure between the two sports.
ETA - and there are few things worse than the "I don't watch the NBA" type fans. 99% of the time their reasoning is bogus.

9121 for Auburn basketball.
15000 for MSU baseball. However, 11 SEC schools have smaller baseball stadiums than Auburn's basketball arena, with 5 of them having a capacity of less than 4000.

I haven't watched a full NBA game since the 90's, but I love Alabama basketball.

I'd rather be competitive in both, but if I had to choose one, it'd definitely be basketball. I find it more exciting and generates more revenue.

The decision for Basketball due to revenue is an easy one, I give you that. But you same MFers saying that no one cares about college baseball will be the same ones creating/commenting on "WE GOIN TO OMAHA" threads should your team fare well.

So just like the new USC basketball fans here????

USC basketball fans are showing pride in their teams triumphs. I don't remember seeing any of them ever saying "no one cares about basketball" when we were having walk on tryouts pre-Frank Martin.

I'd rather go to the Frozen Four than Omaha.

Because that would be a ridiculous statement.

you're missing out. the disparity in the quality of play b/t the college game and pro game is night and day, unlike college football and the nfl. a lot of it is due to the best players leaving after 1 or 2 years in basketball. the 1 and done system is ruining the game. the nba and college basketball need to adopt a system more like baseball....you can declare out of high school, but if you don't, you have to stay in college through your junior season

As is "no one cares about Baseball"
