Let me guess what the real reason why you started this thread?

Saban was your Coach went to Miami Two years later decides to come back to College coaching comes to Alabama turns our program around.

Try to get Mike Shula to do the same by coming to LSu and suppsedly this will upset Bama fans as well? About right? Thought so. Keep flaming dorkhead...

I don't hate Shula at all...but I damn sure wouldn't hire him as a coach either. Now if you guys (LSU, Auburn) asked me about him, I'd tell you what a good guy he was...

I guess that's a no. Shula seems to be one of the better exSEC coaches out there.

Mike Shula is currently a QB coach in the NFL. Why would he want to be a QB coach in college? That said, I would love for him to go to LSU. You think the Tiger offense is awful now, my God just imagine if Mike Shula was there too. Just imagine the offensive creativity and brain power between him and Miles LSU should do this

Yeah, because our offense really tore it up under Shula.

In all seriousness, he would not be a bad choice as a QB coach. As I understand it he is well-respected in the NFL in that capacity, and our QBs while he was the coach here might have been all-world. We'll never know, because they spent all their time running from defensive linemen that our pathetic line couldn't block. Plus, he may be the worst red zone play caller in the history of football. Absolutely mind-bogglingly bad. I have to imagine his thought process while calling plays was something like this:

"Ok, third and goal from the three... now, I know I've run the same play 99 times in a row in this situation, but they'll NEVER expect me to run it for the hundredth time! Oh, Mike, you sly dog, you!"

He always looked so smug, like there was no way his plan could fail. Even though it DID fail. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Shula is great with QBs as an OC he would be horrible. Brodie was well coached and so was JPW it was the O-line was horrible the entire time of his tenure.

As a QB coach, it would be a decent to good hire. He's really not bad doing that job. You just have to wonder about his play calling sometimes.

Unless we can Stud and Miles agrees to coach Oline(which he should) we can't hire a QB coach and OC due to the maximum number of coaches your allowed by the NCAA.

so whoever is hired as OC is the QB coach as well.

And that Better not be Shula. I doubt the boosters would allow that anyways.

Schula - OC
Ed Orgeron - OL (i know he doesn't coach this, but it wouldn't frickin matter anyway after we hired that first bozo.)
Sly Croom - RB coach
Lane Kiffin- WR coach

Best offensive coaching staff ever assembled!!!!

A Nebraska fan attempting to poke fun at another team's offense? Could the pot be any blacker?

Tide, I don't remember if y'alls playcalling was bad in the redzone or if it was just McElroy. How were y'all in redzone TD efficiency? I just remember McElroy didn't complete a pass in the redzone for a couple of weeks until he did in the LSU game.

Wait I looked it up. It was 45%, which isn't so hot. But it doesn't really matter if you go 13-0.
