I wouldn't have minded if he came back, but it was best that he goes to the draft. Likely a first round pick and when that is the case it's in that players best interests to declare.

If that wasn't the case and he wanted to come back next year and compete for the job, that would have been fine.

And as far as Alabama goes, he wasn't the type of QB DeBoer would recruit, so it'll be nice to see what the offense looks like when we have the type of recruits and players DeBoer wants. That combined with the players we've shed in the portal and/or recruited this year makes me pretty excited for next year.

If this is me, and it's not, I would take that in a second, along with the 3+ million I prob made this year, and retire and never play a down in the NFL.

$10 million before you are 25 with minimal damage to your body. Invest it and live off likely $500k plus of interest/earnings/dividends a year

He’s a good QB. Dealt with injury and obviously very smart QB. The problem to me is with the portal and NiL do you keep a guy with younger but higher potential begging a player for 1 more year or do you go with the younger player who can give you two more years. Kind of a tough decision.

Absolutely we would take Ty Simpson back in a heartbeat. Our Offensive Line and Run game were bad this season which caused more pressure on Ty and led to him being injured.

If the man was playing with the reported injuries he had for half the season is as it was reported? 100% I would. Really, I would either way.

I'd rather have a tool in the toolbox and let coach make that decision than not to have the option at all.

The signing bonus for the 10th pick in the NFL Draft varies slightly by year due to the rookie wage scale, but for the 2025 NFL Draft, it was around $16 million, with the player signing a four-year, fully guaranteed deal worth roughly $26-27 million, as seen with Michigan TE Colston Loveland. Looking ahead to the 2026 NFL Draft, projections suggest the 10th pick's signing bonus will be in a similar range, possibly around $16 million, as part of a total contract worth nearly $30 million.
