Of course, just talking about the design scheme of playoffs. The best playoffs are the fairest ones like March Madness, where everybody plays an equal number of games for a title. No byes mean equal games, equal rest and equal exposure to injuries.

This. The day will come, and right quick, when a 7-5 team that didn’t do shite in the regular season against shite competition gets in over a 10-2 team that played much tougher opponents. All conferences are not created equal. In a perfect world all conference champ games have an 11-0 vs a 10-1 team but that will never be the case.

There's going to be 4 major teams (SEC, Big 10, ACC, Big 12, Notre Dame etc) left out, that would put up a far better fight in the opening round than the 5th confererence champ will.
If it's all about TV money anyway, you may as well do it.

Doesn't matter to Florida if it is 4,6,8,10,12,16 team playoff. They will not be there as long as Sun Belt Billy is there.
I would say the same for Kelly at LSU. LSU will never win a championship with Kelly as the HC.

Why not more than12? Every other classification /sport has more. FCS football has 24, NFL has 14 in a 32 team league, college basketball and baseball has 64. Why is everyone against expanded playoffs. Do away with bowls, they became obsolete/a joke years ago.

I would say the same for Kelly at LSU. LSU will never win a championship with Kelly as the HC.
LSU won championships with Les Miles and Ed Orgeron. There is no universe where those guys are better coaches than Kelly.
This isn't Alabama, where you can say "Saban isn't on the sideline anymore" and it can hit home.

Not sure why they decided on 12 instead of 8 or 16. Why should anyone get a bye?

because if after 13 games played over the regular season + CCG wknd you aren't even ranked in the top 12 you have very clearly lost your chance to be national champion. It shouldn't even be 12.

In CFB the regular season used to be the best on earth because all 12 games were crucial. One loss and you went to the back of the line and had to hope like hell you had some help, 2 losses and you are now out of contention (usually). It makes the regular season absolutley important whereas now it's almost irrelevant.

because the entire point of the thing is (should be rather) who is the national chamion? Who is the best team? Someone ranked 16th after 13 weeks doesn't deserve it.
