Here is another example for you....
An SEC football team worries only about winning 8 games in conference play, and winning 1 meaningful OOC game in most years. A game can be lost and still have a shot. So, we are still at the 8 game conference wins including the title game.
Then, said team has a month or longer to prepare to play for a national title.
Now Basketball...Plays two games a week in the regular season. Plays in conference tourney, in which they will play at least 3 games in 3 days with minimal time to prepare for their next opponent. Fast forward to the NCAA tourney....round 1 games on Thursday, round of 32 on Saturday...minimal preparation time, short player recovery time.... And so on throughout the entire tourney....tougher than football
Now Baseball....5-6 games a week, in most cases 5 games in a 7 day stretch...cannot lose to small programs...scholarship limit handcuffs...must qualify for conference tourney...make the NCAA field and you play at least 4 games in 4 days in regional...if you lose a game, that could be 5 games in 4 days...Super Regionals...3 games in 3 days....College World Series...2 weeks of testing your arms...if you make it the ought that, then another 3 games to decide the champion...

It doesn't! If you are good you are going to win. No matter how many teams are in the field. The cream rises to the top. Arky has like 50 track titles and LSU has a lot too, but there are more teams competing. You use FGCU as an example because they made the sweet 16, who gives a shite. George Mason made it to the Final Four and didn't win it. Who cares. Titles are all that matters in sports. Indiana and Gonzaga have been overrated all year so please don't use a 1 seed losing early, it happens.

You obviously are not comprehending what I am laying down...
By football logic, who would have played for the national title in basketball? The two teams you just stated were overrated. Why didn't they? Because basketball has a tougher format and a tourney for teams to go through.
Thanks for proving my point, but not being smart enough to recognize it yourself.

If you're just ranking the Big 3 (aka being a responsible American) I think Ole Miss would be higher. Bowl game, NCAA tourney, top 25 in baseball. But yeah if you count irrelevant sports like gymnastics and shite, we're lower.

So you laugh at any list that isn't Football or softball ranking?
Why is softball at Alabama so revered, and why does the SEC concede this to them? One year? Do they have more College World Series than Texas A&M? No. No they do not.

SEC All-Sports Trophy
Through the end of the 2011–2012 school year, the Florida Gators have won 204 Southeastern Conference (SEC) team championships, the most in conference history.[69][70]
The SEC All-Sports Trophy began in 1973 as the Bernie Moore Trophy and tabulated the league's best men's sports program.[71] In 1983, the SEC also began recognizing the best women's sports program in the conference, as well as the best overall SEC sports program.[72] In 1994, the New York Times Regional Newspaper Group assumed responsibility for awarding the trophies.[1] In the 39-year history of the awards, Florida has won nineteen Women's Trophies, sixteen Men's Trophies, and twenty-two Overall SEC All-Sports Trophies (including twenty-two of the last twenty-five).[1]
SEC rival Georgia won the overall 2005–2006 All-Sports Trophy to snap Florida's record streak at fourteen straight (1990–1991 through 2004–2005).[1] Florida reclaimed the SEC All-Sports Trophy for the 2006–2007 school year, and the Gators again swept the overall, men's, and women's all-sports trophies in every year since.[1] The Gators are the only SEC sports program to earn all three SEC all-sports trophies in a single year, and have swept all three trophies twelve times.

The point of this thread is best current athletic department. That's why Auburn is last.
Alabama is two time defending champion in football (and gymnastics) and defending champ in softball and women's golf with a chance to win in men's or women's golf, gymnastics, and softball this year.
Alabama finished second in the SEC in basketball and is a half game back of first in baseball. There is zero bias in either of those statements.
LSU's 35 running championships are great and all, but aren't applicable in this thread.
Florida went 11-1 in football and have a great chance to win the basketball championship this year. Their baseball isn't great but neither is ours.
Florida or Alabama should be first.
