Bama got in on preseason rankings and past success and nothing else.
They played what turned out to be a horrid schedule, had no good wins realistically, and lost to the only team worth a damn they played.
This is entirely based on preconceived ideas of who this Bama team is. That said, there was no clear cut #4 team.

I agree, the schedule issue makes one feel slighted, especially after the slate AU played. But if the roles were reversed, I wouldn't cause a fuss over it. I would probably be a tad bit more gracious than most Bama/UGA fans (considering their schedule comparative to AU) or the fact they were taken with a week off, but I wouldn't protest the decision of AU being in.
At the very least, Bama is a top 5 team. Quite honestly, I do not believe OSU/Wisconsin could stay within two TDs of UA/UGA/nor AU. If the goal isn't to have the best teams playing each other, it's pointless. A conference championship means nothing more than you won your conference. It has no bearing on how good of a team you are.
Now if you want to talk about expanding to 6 teams, top 2 get a first round bye, sure, I'm all ears. But I guarantee the moment every power 5 team gets their champion in, most will be saying some of the teams have no business being there.
