That was clearly a TD.

Unless you have eyes, or just a solid understanding of what is required to overturn a call.

Bama-LSU 2004. LSU defender literally shoved Keith Brown down while the ball was in the air and then intercepted it. There were three refs watching. No call

I'm trying to remember that one but drawing a blank. You have a screenshot of it or a short clip? Was the pass behind the LOS or was it downfield?

LSU vs Auburn '06

The refs had to gift wrap up and rewrap that thing 3 times to get Auburn over the hump.

Not that it matters, but I didn't realize how close Marshall was to the LOS on this play. It looks like this should have been an illegal forward pass. It would have been hard for the refs to make this call during the play, but did we even review this? Probably would have been overturned.

Illegal forward pass, and lineman downfield for starters. Not to mention that was the play that set up Chris Davis out of bounds.

You realize the entire body has to be beyond the LOS, right?

ARTICLE 2. A forward pass is illegal if: a. It is thrown by a Team A player whose entire body is beyond the neutral zone when he releases the ball.

His entire body would have to be across the line. So not even close. Legal play.

The NCAA Rule is similar:

ARTICLE 2. A forward pass is illegal if: a. It is thrown by a Team A player whose entire body is beyond the neutral zone when he releases the ball.

In both cases, the passer’s entire body must be beyond the line of scrimmage (NFL) or neutral zone (NCAA). Nothing too ground-breaking here tonight, but it did come as a surprise to me that the rule was so liberal.
