That play summarizes my annoyance with Auburn in 2010 and 2013.

It's like watching a Playstation game come to life.

It really was injury problems that year. I think the bowl game against Michigan State showed what Alabama could have done when healthy.

MI & TR were both beat up that year, which when coupled with young OL and mr. field general gmac created some problems for the offense. On D we were young in the secondary already and lost a safter preseason and when Barron went down during the IB we were paper thin with young corners who were prone to make mistakes. Which wouldn't have been the end of the world, but Hightower wasn't all the way back from his acl injury the year before and Dareus & Upshaw both dealt with high ankle problems so we didn't have the expected awesome rush to protect the defensive backfield (healthy rush prowess can be seen in the game against michigan state as well as penn state from earlier in the year).

The 2011 Capital One Bowl showed the country what that 2010 Alabama team was capable of when almost completely healthy. Mark Barron was the only starter out for that game if I remember correctly.

maybe

or maybe we take some of that momentum we had from our late scoring drive and make things a lot closer in the second

not saying we would've won, but I think it could've been a lot more competitive

That hail mary killed us. No telling how we would have played in the second half had that not happened. We probably wouldn't have won but it would've been closer. Did you forget us taking y'all to the wire in auburn?

C'mon. It was the worst loss in the history of the game. Those types of things don't really hinge on one play. I mean, maybe if you'd lost by 10 points or something.

But we're talking a history making loss. Worst. loss. ever.

So, yeah, if it makes you feel better, cling to the 'one play did it' theory.

You had 30 minutes to make up 14 points.

AU did that in 31 seconds last year.

it was the dagger in the heart that sealed the game in the first half, but the game was won. Like I said that second TD was the only life you had in the game up to that point.

and the team evolved quite a bit from the first few games of the year. Everyone knows that

How much did Auburn's miracle ways of 2010 influence Updyke's mental illness?

Not saying he doesn't shoot some poor Auburn fan, but pulling miracles out of their wazzoos probably pushed him over the edge into tree poisoning territory.

MSU had 65 rushing yards, 84 passing yards...and 222 return yards. Very good special teams play was all that kept them in the game.

it was the iron bowl coupled with his delusions that set him off

And yet they still led 14-10 in the 4th quarter before Tennessee's depth finally took over the game on the offensive side of the ball.
