Les Miles is doing some remarkable things in Baton Rouge. The only reason it doesn't stand out is because another fella is doing unprecedented work in Tuscaloosa.

I don't really agree with #4, not sure who I'd replace him with though.

I can't in good conscious put Les on that list, even if he is a moonbat

I don't see what other BCS NC winning coach that Miles would be replaced with. Perhaps LSU fans have had to indoctrinate themselves in regards to his coaching ability once they realized he wasn't departing ere long.

Gene owns this list.

Les shouldn't be on it.

Mack Brown is a better football coach than Fulmer, imo.

I don't think there's any question. Fulmer was the original "CEO" head coach. He was a recruiter and a salesman that surrounded himself with an excellent staff. Cutcliffe and Chavis.

1. Gene Chizik
Just a bad coach in general. Couldn't produce a decent defense.

2. Larry Coker
Average coach who inherited a stacked team.

3. Mack Brown
Coach with the easiest recruiting job in the nation who would have Texas in the top 5 regularly if he were decent.

These are easily the top three in the BCS era. Every other coach that has won a BCS championship have been good to great coaches in my opinion, including Les Miles.

I think this is a complete list of all coaches who have won a BCS Championship, for reference.

Phil Fulmer
Larry Coker
Bob Stoops
Booby Bowden
Pete Carroll*
Nick Saban
Les Miles
Jim Tressel
Urban Myer
Gene Chizik
Mack Brown

ETA: With this list of coaches, putting Les at 4th worst is about right, imo.

It's 13 against 1 on this board. No biggie to the adult tiger fans, the kids seem to get upset though

And I would have tressel, fulmer, and prob stoops on the list before Miles but in reality who gives a shite?

The coach that I say puts les miles outside the top 5.

While I agree that les isn't a bad coach, not too many bad coaches win national championships. So it's kind of a relative list. Saying he is the 6th worst coach to win a natty is still saying he is one of the best coaches all around.

LSU fans get their hemorrhoids inflamed way too easy.

Eta: whoops, op had les at 4, not 5. Oh well, adjust my numbers accordingly. I'm too lazy.

I've actually always considered Les to be very similar to Chizik. Chizik is/was a coach with a background in defense who couldn't coach it at all. Miles is a coach with a background in offense who can't coach it at all. Really, for anyone with an appreciation for offenses, LSU's is horrid. A toss play to run the ball inside of the tackle? Lord. If he hands over complete control to Cam Cameron we may finally see a difference.

Once Les finally moves on, and if LSU replaces him with a decent coach, I will be vindicated. Until then...

I don't mind trolling as long as it's not so obvious.
