They spent the money to pull Kelly from Notre Dame, and he's corrected the course.
Ah cool
Kelly DID stop that from happening.

on track to go to 9-3 again
Uh
I know you're a Gator fan- if Kelly's been meh, what has Napier been for y'all? The big hole in our defense is a mobile QB- you have Lagway, but if he plays he has a bad hamstring. Without him at full speed, I think LSU beats Florida.
I think LSU wins the home games against Vandy and Oklahoma; it's funny to think Vandy is the tougher opponent.
And if you're saying 9-3 is a problem in year 3- let's look at some other guys in their third year. How's Napier doing? How's Venebles doing at Oklahoma? Riley at USC? Any of them have a shot at 9-3 this year?

I'm not going to overreact to a bad loss, like some 13 yr old girl
Yeah, there's a lot of people doing exactly that right now.
The program is going to be fine. We should be better next season, I expect Nussmeier will be more relaxed his final year. And no, I don't think he's going to the draft- he's probably a 3rd or 4th rd guy right now. I think his ankle will be better, no more limping... he was limping in the Bama game too.
Durham should have more impact, as now you know you have a back with potential and can build some things for him.
Defense should be better, guys more familiar with their roles. We're not at the point where talent is coming in and make it elite, but the scheme itself is solid.
We finally have an incoming class with guys you want to see, it's been awhile since I've felt that.
People just need to realize this isn't LSU from past decades, we're not at UGA or Bama level yet. That's going to take time. But we're also not 6-6, so we're on the right track.

Downvoted. Why isn't there a poll?

at least Jimbo has a MNC to his name
On top of that, Jimbo got shafted for the playoffs in 2020 so BK and Notre Dame brand could get in and get their shite pushed up to their throats. It would've been the second time in less than five years that two SEC teams got into the playoffs, and it'd happen again the very next year. Plus Bama vs. LSU in 2011. They weren't gonna let A&M in for SEC fatigue.

Hunt Freeze on a windy day.
Send Kelly up an unstable crane to film it.

Whats even more depressing is the AD that hired them both is LSUs present AD. I'm afraid to see what his next "big" hire would be.

This last loss by Kelly is the worst of his time here. He needs to reevaluate strength & conditioning and most of the offensive coaches. Jayden hid a lot of weaknesses on offense his two years here.

Bad, but as far as I can tell this thread isn't about Napier.
If 9-3 is your best possible outcome in year three it simply proves that 63-year old Brian Kelly is exactly who we thought he was.
A guy that won't go 5-7 but has a very clear ceiling and a contract that will exceed the patience of LSU fans.

Jimbo probably but Jayden Daniels may be the only thing thay divides them.

What are you talking about?
Jimbo didn’t win anything at Texas am
Kelly 304-104-2

Jimbo but give Kelly more time. LSU doesn’t have the resources to get rid of him and pay the next guy Woodward will overpay. At some point Woodward should be held accountable, how do you trust him to pick the replacement. Lol

I will say this- first off, we absolutely were headed to chronic 5-7, and that's been averted. If 9-3 is not good enough for our fanbase, that means we didn't have the disaster to where you wished your team could go 9-3 (Florida, Auburn, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and you can add Tennessee, Miami and Fla State to that- they just recently climbed out of their holes, and Fla State has fallen right back into it). And that's a good thing.
Secondly, people keep saying "he can't win big games" and "he is what he is". That's fine too... Les Miles was a 7-8 win guy at Oklahoma State, and a 3 win guy at Kansas. At LSU that translated to 9-10 wins and 3 title game appearances. Orgeron was Ole Miss' alltime losingest coach. That seemed to translate to 8+ wins, with a run to a title (and then he stopped caring).
I'm still 100% comfortable in saying Kelly is a better coach than either of those two, with Miles maybe being close.
