For the sake of argument, ELI5.
Is it the 40 year gap between NCs, the 20 year gap between SEC Championships, the once a decade SEC Titles before Herschel came along in the 80's, or the fact that UGA didn't make it to Atlanta until 2002 - after Bama, Florida, Tennessee, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, and State(being the 8th team to make it in a 12 team conference is Elite)?
Maybe it's the fact that when they left the SEC in 1963, GT had more SEC Titles than UGA. It took UGA's most hated rival leaving the conference for UGA to finally match their accomplishments (3 years later).
Maybe you are upset about the fact that the only SEC teams that UGA has a losing record to are Alabama and LSU, two teams you also lag behind in NCs.
Is that what makes an "Elite Historical Tradition"?
ETA: The Argentina comparison also doesn't work because people care about Argentina.
UGA won back-to-back NCs, starting to seem like the new Dynasty replacing Alabama, and....no one gave a shite. UGA is boring.
UGA is a regional market team. Nationally, they don't garner the attention that other teams do. They'll never be on the same stage as teams like Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas, LSU (yes, LSU), Miami, Florida, USC.
Every one of those programs are national draws.

Only thing I kind of disagree with is the "chaotic" down years.
We've had 3 seasons that you could consider true down years since 2000, and the only one I'd consider "chaotic" was this past season, which was only chaotic because of the Coaching hire.
2020 was COVID, so it was chaotic for everyone. 2021 wasn't chaotic at all. Just disappointing.
