Both teams have won and played in multiple national championships in the last 10 yrs...can the WLOCP say the same?

When was the last time they played and both finished in the top 10? 2013? So, 7 years ago it was an intriguing matchup. Meanwhile Florida and Georgia are expected to be fighting for a playoff berth.
And both Georgia and Florida have both finished in the top 10 the last 2 years.

ETA
Just looked it up and Alabama and Auburn have both finished in the top 10 once since 2013 and that was in 2017. Alabama finished #1 and Auburn finished #10.

This is such gump logic. When Bama is good, the games count. In years when they suck, they dont.

Considering the post 2 spots up from yours is an Auburn fan trying to make the same argument, I would say the Gumps are not the only ones trying to make this argument.

BOTH teams have played for multiple National Championships in the last 10 years? So, you are saying that Auburn has played for multiple National Championships in the last 10 years? Hmm. I must have missed some of them.

Are you trying to be obtuse or does it come naturally?

You tell me. here is your exact quote:

Both teams have won and played in multiple national championships

Now you tell me. Read it very slowly and tell us all what this means.

But yes. I knew Auburn had not played in or won multiple National Championships.

So you would be more interested in seeing two teams who have not been in the top 10 together but once in the last 7 years, than to watch two teams that have both finished in the top 10 the last two years and are expected to fight for the playoffs this year. No problem.

I’ve not said anything in this thread outside of pointing out your error, which you seem to still be making. Auburn has played for national championships in 2010 and 2013.

As for which game I’d rather watch, I’d say they’re pretty close in terms of entertainment value. Making the argument that UF is somehow superior to Auburn this year or even since Mullen arrived is funny. Put Auburn in the East and given them FSU every year and see what happens.

2020 UF is a playoff contender and Auburn is not? Lol

You probably wont like it.
You've lost your last 5 games to the East and only game to FSU this millennium.

Over the past 10 seasons, you've failed to put a winning record against Georgia, Florida (in one of their worst decades in about 30 years), Tennessee (in their worst decade in university history), and Vandy. You have a 2-1 record against Kentucky (congrats on being over .500 against Kentucky).

Hell, Auburn still doesnt have a winning record all time against Vandy.

Auburn might be the 3rd best team in the West. But recent trends point to 4th best team in the East.

1-1 vs. UF and 1-1 vs. UT in the last 10 years. Take it back another 10 and get back to me.

They are 0-5 vs the SEC East since Dec 2017. Losing to 3 different teams. Auburn is 3rd best in east just like west most years.

Wasn’t Auburn in a National Championship game in 2018?

Yeah. About taking it back.
I took the Auburn vs Vandy series back 43 games and Auburn still doesnt have a winning record.

I'm afraid that Auburn would go from the 3rd best team in the West to the 4th best team in the East.

3rd best team in the West. 4th best team in the East. You really should stay in the West. It is better to avoid the division that is 5-0 against you right now.

That's easy, the WLOCP is leaps and bounds better than the iron bowl. Location, atmosphere, camping all week, split stadium, everyone has all their teeth etc......

What? Auburn was on like a six game winning streak against the Vols before they got upset in 2018.

Thank you. Basic research, reading comprehension, and general awareness are not strengths of this crowd.

One game has mattered and been full of memorable moments and upsets in the last decade.

The other is meh for most all outside of their bases.

The LSU-UF game is more interesting than the game formerly known as the WLOCP (which is all you need to know).

We haven't gotten to play Vanderbilt every year since 1992 to pad our win total against them. Nice try though.....

Definition of multiple:

Several: sev·er·al

determiner

Would you like to try again? Tell me again who keeps making mistakes? definitions matter. Maybe it is not "my" error that should be pointed out?

Making the argument that UF is somehow superior to Auburn this year or even since Mullen arrived is funny.
But, I never made that argument. I made the argument that Florida has finished ranked higher the last two years and multiple sources have predicted they would be fighting for a playoff spot THIS year. I also pointed out that Auburn and Alabama has only finished in the top 10 in the same year once in the last 7 years.

Rankings at the end of the year indicates you are wrong. If rankings do not show who the strongest teams are in order, what are they for?

quote:

Put Auburn in the East and given them FSU every year and see what happens.
Except the East broke even head to head against the west last season and won the head to head match ups the year before. Also, Auburn is 0-5 in their last 5 games against East teams.

Don't argue with me. Argue with the sports writers. Auburn is averaging 4 1/2 losses a year since 2013.
