IMO, coach saban always had trouble picking the right QB. I believe this was his greatest weakness as coach. Some years it worked out that we had a good QB - but if you examine the history we went thru some problems.

If you watch Division I football, or FBS, you will note that every single school with rookie QB's had a tough time. Gonna cost you some games. Look for the WEst to get tougher. WE don't know what Moo State or Auburn will look like, but LSU, Ole MIss and Arkansas should all be better, while it will be tough for Alabama to be better than they were this year.

Saban chose Booty to play over Rohan Davey who eventually led LSU to sec title.
Saban ran Mauck in a rout at Fla and was forced to replace him when he got hurt. Who does Bama have if McElroy goes down.
Saban put Russell in the doghouse and it wasn't until Miles got here that Russell finally had an offense he could thrive in.

new QBs in the West next year.....
Bama-McElroy
Arky-Mallett, presumably
LSU-JJ? I guess I still think he's new since only 2+ games under his belt (I expect to get lashed for not automatically inserting Shepherd as the starter)
Miss St.-I cant even name their QB this year, so ??
Auburn-Burns, presumably, but we all know they've got alot of other problems
Ole Miss looks to have the best QB situation.
Division looks to be pretty wide open to me, and definitely winnable while breaking in a new QB

Saban leaves that decision (as to which QB gets the start) to Coach McElwain. It's his offense and he knows which qb is ready to go. (he is also the qb coach)

Alabama's schedule is pretty easy next year, that will keep them in the mix, but they won't have the tie-breaker over LSU if it comes to that

Dude, Lil' Nicky has COMPLETE control over every aspect of his team. You really are an idiot.

You gumps got an experienced QB for next year. I don't expect you guys to totally suck or anything, but a 2008 LSU type season for you guys is not out of the realm of possibility.

I think a 9 or 10 win season is more a possibility. Our defense shouldn't cave with turmoil like Lsu's did alot this season. I don't think we win less than 8 games regular season next year.

while anything is possible, that's not likely b/c we're expecting our defense to be better next year.. hopefully, they can carry us early in the season.

No shite. Yall actually have a DC, for a head coach i might add. We have two piles of shite. I'm serious. You could have put two piles of shite on the sidelines and got those same results this year with our D.

Nobody knows who's declaring for the draft yet. That's especially important for a team like LSU where several guys could legitimately come out.

Go ahead and dream about next year but when you finally put the crack pipe down, you will realize that that Ole Miss team is going to be VERY GOOD. LSU will be very good as well with a sophmore QB and a 'real' def coordinator! Alabama will finish no higher than 3rd in the west!

Aren't they recruiting a spread QB from Maryland? They prob wont start him as a true freshman but if Burns can't get it together they might rotate him in.

No. ULM has the tie-breaker. I bet you have that spot on your map don't you?

Seriously, I see Ole Miss over you guys. You'll prolly come out ahead of LSU unless we get our defense together. Then you're in trouble.
