Yeah but my only worry is the long period since he last played since his broken foot. I thought it would be good just to get back in a game before K-State, run a little, take a hit and get back the feel of the game while gaining confidence in his old injury. Anyone who has played ball knows that a former injury is mental and you want a series or two under your belt to gain confidence.

I don't think we can wait several series vs K-State for him to get confidence. That could make for a close game and Snyder is one helluva coach. Guess we will see.

Just an excuse to blame losing on.

I wouldn't underestimate them if I were you.

If we lose to Kansas State, it's going to be a long year.

Kid seems sharp. May be a slow first half but missing one game should not slow him down. The OLine is what usually needs time to gel.

Exactly. They beat a 10 win Ok State and took a solid 12 win Oklahoma team in deep waters. Not sure why our own fans think this is some type of cake walk. Especially since it's in their house. Some of our fans don't pay attention to teams outside the Sec.

I actually think that Keytaon Thompson might be better than Fitz.

I think Thompson will have the better career but experience is something that can't be coached. I would go with Fitz right now.

The good thing is you're playing them early in the season. They typically get off to slow starts and don't usually morph into the real K-State until mid-season.

The bad thing is they're getting an SEC opponent at home. They will be geeked and extra prepared for this game. Should be a fun one to watch.

Yep it will be a packed house and roudy. The success of our season relies on getting those first few wins under a new system while working out kinks on both sides of the ball. This game is starting to worry me. Thank heavens our defense has stacked front 7.

Will this be Fitzgerald's first game returning to the field since his injury?

Yep. He got hurt early vs Ole Miss. Did not play vs Louisville in the bowl game and now will miss first game of season.

What makes you say that?

Because they are not better than Florida, Auburn, Alabama, or LSU.

They had the 2nd worst passing defense in the country and gave up 375 or more passing yards 6 times last season and lost their best defensive back. They lost two starting defensive lineman. They also lost their two leading tacklers (both played linebacker).

How many returning starters on your Oline?

4. And Eiland (starting LT this year) started 4 games last year and played in all 13.

We are fine on O-Line. Four returning starters and a 5th who started 4 games. The O-Line is fine and our D-line is a beast. We've improved everything on defense with more depth, too. All I'm saying is that K-State has a history of knocking off a lot of top 25 teams and for that much, a lot of top 15 teams.

I still go back to Oklahoma. They have a power team and their fans know more about K-State than some people chiming in. I follow all football regardless of conference and I know K-State can be very dangerous. Snyder is one of the best cosches out there and what he does with non top 30 talent is fricking amazing. The man can coach.

That's funny. The last SEC opponent to visit the little apple happened to be Nick Marshall led Auburn. They barely escaped with a win which came about on several K-State errors.
