Yea, look what the best defense in the country did! Gave up, what, 31 points? DOMINATION!

1) If you think that FSU had the best defense in the country, you're an idiot.
2) I was referring to the 10 points that Auburn scored in the 2nd half after the FSU coaches made their adjustments.

Who was better?

Florida State only allowed 12.1 points per game. Objectively, and subjectively, they were the best defense in college football during the 2013 season, and I can say that without hesitating.

They still allowed 31 total points, and that was with a missed field goal.

shite, if you'll just knock down hail mary's and cover what is essentially a kickoff, you can beat them.
You got a point! Without those flukes, Auburn's a 4 loss team...and a footnote to the season.

1. Florida State finished the season with the NUMBER 1 scoring defense in the COUNTRY. So youre the idiot.
2. We missed a field goal so there's that.

Ps. Bama only scored 7 points against Auburn's defense in the second half after adjustments. How bad does that look LOL

You talk about the fans of the team that's won THREE of the last five NCGs jumping off bridges.....you can't get any more stupid than that.

Who had a defense better than Florida State?

We are all eager to hear your answer.

For starters, Alabama had a better defense. Alabama gave up 13.9 points per game playing an SEC schedule, not a panzy-arse ACC schedule. Finally, my total reference was to how FSU made their halftime adjustments with a good NG and allowed Auburn just 10 points in the 2nd half.

No. I'm saying that your type of HUNH offense was new to the league last year, and like the wishbone, teams couldn't handle it given a few weeks, but you're gonna see the teams with the superior athletes take a different approach to it this year. Hell, look what FSU did in the 2nd half after playing against it for 2 quarters.

It is a fact that a new brand of offense people don't prepare for can give people fits early in its existence and then fade away as people learn to prepare for it.

However, the HUNH isn't really a scheme or philosophy, so it's really a different situation. As far as schematics and philosophy go, I've seen Gus Malzahn field offenses that, outside of his signature plays, have looked radically different during his stay at Auburn. I'm extremely confident that our offense will never stray far from the top 3 in the conference during the remaining years that Malzahn stays at Auburn.

If anything, the guy has a track record on offense that really seems to indicate that he's a mad scientist that knows how to exploit a teams weaknesses. He's had enormous success at every stop and while people may speculate that his success will somehow end, I think Gus will, as he has at every stop before, continue to prove doubters wrong.

Subjectively, to you, maybe. Objectively, no.

Florida State had the best defense in 2013.

If anything, Florida State had this dude named Jernigan who was the only player all year to get the best of our offensive line and clog the interior run.

You take that away from our 2013 team and that offense is going to face some real issues. I thought that Malzahn called a beauty of a game offensively though, outside of one or two really bad decisions (the CAP wildcat play will be forever burned into my retinas)
