few drives here and there with variations on that offense. is that even do-able? or must one use the entire scheme to be successful

I think it is more likely SEC defenses catch up to this scheme. Monkey see Monkey do you are correct. Offensive production should be going way down this year in the SEC though.

Can an AU fan describe concisely what exactly a Malzahn offense is?

Run the same 3 plays over and over and over and over and over.....BOOM OFFENSIVE GENIUS BITCH.

the Gus offense looks different every year. he uses the player's strengths to the max.

M alzahn will just adjust again he's never run it as much as he did last year

Not an AU fan but I go to HS games all the time and see this O every Friday night in the fall.

This would be the smart thing, for anyone.
My question might be perceived in the wrong way...it's a serious question. The HU is just tempo change, the NH just disallows defensive substitutions. The actually scheme, is it primarily read option?

Who the hell wants to run a high school offense?

Malzahn runs a lot of the same plays out of different formations really fast. The secret is not letting the offense get into their grove. You simply must win on first and second down then be disciplined on third.

I'll defer to the 13 other fanbases as they are the experts.

Malzahn's offense isn't the complicated pro style offense of petrino or anything like that but he runs it at you faster than you can handle it's really the perfect counter to saban's constant situational defense.

A perfect counter to situational defense really.
