re: Will Wade gives update on LSU roster

LSU has four international commitments: 22-year-old Italian-Senegalese wing Saliou Niang, 23-year-old French center Brice Dessert, 19-year-old Croatian forward Michael Ruzic and 24-year-old Israeli center Gilad Levy. Wade said LSU no longer will have Brazilian center Marcio Santos on the team. When asked why, he said, “You’d have to ask the NCAA on that.”

Wade has one incoming high school recruit in 6-8 forward Jordan Bender, who does not have a profile on any major recruiting sites.

The Tigers have seven transfer portal additions in point guard Donovan Dent (UCLA), combo guard Skyy Clark (UCLA), forward Mo Dioubate (Kentucky), shooting guard Abdi Bashir (Kansas State), point guard Divine Ugochukwu (Michigan State), combo guard Austin Nunez (Texas-San Antonio) and guard Luke Stansbury (Stephen F. Austin), the son of associate head coach Rick Stansbury and likely a walk-on.

Dent and Clark are fifth-year players who gained eligibility after being among more than 70 players granted a temporary restraining order in an age-based eligibility lawsuit filed in California against the NCAA. That ruling is unaffected by the NCAA’s request to stay the class-wide preliminary injunction in Colorado.

Luis is eligible through the courts after going undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft, signing a two-way NBA contract and playing in preseason games. He was among the group Wade referenced without naming who still have eligibility hurdles.

That's cute. Will Wade is warning us that he's unconventional. No one works harder at being average than LSU. But who's more entertaining? I really look forward to SEC basketball soon.
