Isn’t FSU in top 25 again? I thought they’ve gone on a run lately.
Aren’t they 14-11 in the ACC also? If they win today they are guaranteed a winning record in the ACC

Their RPI is still in the mid-50s. They may be ranked in the human polls and yeah they've been playing much better lately. The problem is the ACC as a whole is down this year.
RPIs
NC State #26
Clemson #35
Duke #36
Va Tech #46
Wake #50
FSU #54
BC #57
UVA #59
Miami (#11), UNC (#12) and NC State (#26) are the only really good teams in that conference this year that are locks at this point for the NCAAT

Could but I think they end up the top 2 seed and frick someone’s year up
Posted on 5/5/19 at 2:53 pm to Hawgeye
Oh I think they’re toast. That means 10 sec teams at best.

IMO, the SEC will get everyone in the west minus Alabama and will also get UGA, Vandy, Missouri, and Tennessee from the East. That's 10, and I believe Missouri is the only borderline team right now. Obviously Missouri and Tennessee could play themselves out the next two weekends, but I don't foresee that happening. Other than those two, the SEC will get 8, at minimum. And if Florida jumps someone by sweeping through the next two weekends, Missouri won't be making it. I don't think there's any way 11 get in with the three at the bottom play each other the next two weekends (Missouri/UT playing each other right now)

The 2 best teams right now are probably UCLA Texas Tech
Vandy and Arkansas are 3/4 however you want to list them. I think Vandy is ahead by their series win.
You’ve said some questionable things in this thread, but good lord, this takes the cake.

I take it you’ve not watched Tech then? I’m sorry you’re missing a great team. They’re the hottest team besides UCLA right now. They have pitching and hitting. May want to watch some teams other than what’s in your bubble

Even if they’re not above .500? If not, they won’t I believe. They should but don’t think they will.
The rule is .500 overall, and the committee has generally required at least 14 conference wins. Once you are at 13 wins, it’s less than even odds of getting in (see Kentucky last year). This year in particular, I think Tennessee should get in with 13 wins, but I could also see the committee dropping them depending on how the AQs shake out.

We are talking conference not overall records with .500.
Context you seem to be lacking in

exactly. A sub .500 record of 14-16 almost never keeps SEC schools out, especially when they have an RPI as strong as UT's

no one is misinterpreting your post. We are telling you that a sub .500 SEC record is not some benchmark for a tourney bid.

Apparently the person above me is
And we both know the committee has gone to try to not rewarding sub .500 and trying to limit some conferences in tournament.

the .500 league thing could keep them out
This is what you said earlier. That is not a rule. I corrected you, as did others in this thread, that the rule is .500 overall record, not conference record.
And I have watched Texas Tech play as well as UCLA and Vandy. I just think Vandy is hotter than Texas Tech, and I just don’t see how you’ve been watching Vandy, Tech, and Arkansas and have Vandy anywhere other than the #2 overall seed.

I never said it was a rule. You assumed I took it as a rule. I mentioned it as it’s been a trend but you tried to correct something that was never mentioned

okay. If it’s not a rule, then how could it keep Tennessee out?
Posted on 5/5/19 at 3:26 pm to Athanatos
Also I said right now not as season total. But again you assumed
Posted on 5/5/19 at 3:27 pm to Athanatos
Again the trend is to keep sub 500 teams in conference out. Are you obtuse? Words have meanings. Apparently you don’t get reading and context.

Texas Tech?
They’re not even the best team in the Big 12 and you’re spouting off that they’re top 2 in the nation? LOL. Tech is 13-7 in the Big 12.
Vandy and Arkansas have 40+ Q1 wins between them. You throw in Miss State and those three teams have 60 Q1 wins.
Posted on 5/5/19 at 3:30 pm to Hawgeye
They’re better than Baylor and right now hottest team in Big XII
Maybe go watch them you’ll see what I’m talking about
They are as good as Arkansas and Vandy in a series. They all 3 have hitting and pitching.
I mean look what oSu did to Oregon st. And the worst team in B12 swept LSU
The issue is when will UCLA get cold. They can’t stay this hot for 3 months

I watch plenty of college baseball and Texas Tech isn’t one of the top teams in the nation currently.
The best teams in the land right now are UCLA, Vandy/Arkansas and probably Miss State.
I would probably have Tech around 10th or just outside the top 10.

No they’re not.
Just stop.
Tech is currently beating OU which I’m guessing you’re basing this stupid suggestion of yours off of.
