Better teams get harder bowl matchups, middle of the road sec teams get a garbage big10 team to destroy if they feel motivated enough.

I think yes
I do, too. It will continue to be that way as long as the East sucks balls and only sends 4 or 5 teams to bowls and all of them are shitty bowls. Playing in CFB and NY6 bowls, the top teams in the West have much tougher bowl games. Sending all seven teams, even the shitty ones, to bowls every year will also continue to hurt the West's bowl record.

Bama beats Mich St. Loses to OU/Clemson - 1
LSU beats TT - 1
Auburn loses to Memphis - 0
Miss State over NC State - 1
A&M loses to Louisville - 0
Ole Miss over OK State - 1
Arkansas over K State - 1
5/7 = .71
East:
VOLS over NU - 1
Michigan over UF - 0
UGA over Penn State - 1
2/3 = .66
So statistically speaking the East has a chance to d better but in terms of sheer number the West would really have to tank for the East to do better.
