Last season UGA was undefeated and lost in the SECCG. Missed the playoffs with that one loss . ND if their regular season record was the same would make the playoffs without having to play in a conference championship. Unfair.
Why are the rules always different for the Irish?
BK didn't want to be in the playoff anymore! That must be why he went to LSU.

College football is a lot of fun, but I don’t think anyone is under any illusion it has ever been “fair”.
Probably is more now than it has been at any point before though.

The twelve team concept was a Participation Trophy set up from the beginning. There will be a SEC and B10 team left out that would demolish some of the automatic qualifiers.

Didn’t that happen to Georgia just last year??
All 4 teams that made the playoffs won conference title games. UGA wasn't punished. No one sitting at home jumped them.

No, they rewarded Texas for winning the conference. The screwed FSU and rewarded Bama for being Bama or Saban retiring or whatever reason.
Or maybe Bama was rewarded for beating #1 UGA and winning the SEC. You act like that was not an accomplishment. No one had a better win on the resume.

Will the committee punish them for the loss? If yes… Does your answer change if the team that lost in the championship has a head to head victory over the other team in discussion?
This is just speculation and conjecture but I believe they’ll start implementing a SOS factor into play at the conclusion of the season. Or at least they should.
Example: if Washington State wins out they will be 11-1 with 0 ranked wins and their 1 loss being to Boise State by 3 touchdowns. As it stands this week, they are #22 in top 25. It’s not hard to imagine they’ll be a fringe at large pick at 11-1 right?
Would it really be fair if they’re ranked #13 and a 10-2 #12 ranked SEC Team with multiple top 25 wins LOSES the SEC championship game and gets passed by an 11-1 Wash State team with one of the worst SOS in the country?

Sure a team could play their way out of the playoffs in a conference title game, but equally forgotten is that it will be an opportunity for some to play their way in. If I am 10-2 Alabama, Ole Miss, or LSU, you bet I want to make the conference title game to have a shot at locking in a spot instead of sitting at home potentially watching someone else leapfrog me in another conference. There will be bid thiefs from the ACC and Big 12 constantly. Example: 9-3 teams beating undefeated teams with the 3 loss team getting an auto-bye top 4 seed and the now 1 loss team still making it.

Bama won the SEC championship, beat 4 teams that finished ranked, including #1 Georgia, and only loss was to 12-1 Conference champion Texas.
You could argue FSU got screwed bc of how they looked with their backup QB but their schedule was an utter joke. They beat LSU in week 1 and didn’t beat another team that finished the season ranked. FSU didn’t deserve shite.
