Art Briles brought Houston program back....Sumlin improved it....it stumbled under Levine...and, Herman got them back to Sumlin's level.

Houston isn't exactly down on talent, they are easily one of the most talented teams in their conference, yet many try to spin it as him doing more with less.

You mean like Kevin Sumlin did?

Yall mean like Art Briles did.

Briles is responsible for turning UH, Sumlin stayed long enough to not screw it up, Herman is sustaining it, and the next UH coach just has to do the same thing for a few yrs to be the next best thing. Major Applewhite maybe??

You do know OSU is in the Big 10 right? A better conference than the SEC this year. You get that right?

Finally someone admits Meyer wasn't really the head coach there. I knew nobody could have a heart attack that bad and come back to work.

If your criterion for running a program is being an assistant at one, then Herman isn't even in the top 20 most viable candidates.

HE WAS THE QB COACH AND OC THAT DEVELOPED BRAXTON MILLER, JT BARRET, AND CARDALE JONES and not to mention Greg ward jr. LSU needs someone who can develop QBs find me a better coach in football who has a better rep for doing so in recent years. OP asked for an explanation I'm simply giving him one. Don't get buthurt cause you know Herman and aranda with a new OC Would be scary as shite.

Who are the most viable candidates? This site is so hilarious sometimes. LSU could be courting Jesus Christ and people on here would do their best to talk themselves in circles trying to argue why he's really not that good.

According to people in here Fisher isn't that good, and neither is Herman, Orgeron, Kiffin, Petrino, Miles, etc. Basically anyone not named Nick Saban isn't worth hiring and everyone should just quit trying

Are you really this dense, or is it an act? I made a statement about the difference between elevating a program in a 2nd tier conference versus maintaining a top level program in a first-tier conference. Trying to change the argument isn't going to work with me. I know b stoopid.

Too passive. He'll have the defense turning the other cheek.

Do you really want to be lumped in with the poster I was replying to? Don't be stupid. My statement about viability concerned, and only concerned, the idea that being an assistant counted as running a program. I was rebutting his asinine observation.

As an Aggie, sick of losing to LSU, Orgeron staying at LSU scares me the most. The man can flat out recruit and he lives and breathes South Louisiana. Something about Herman makes me think he's no better than Sumlin. While I'm ready for us to fire Sumlin, I wouldn't want us to go after Herman.

But again, what the frick do I know?

Tom Herman himself have stated that they are not more talented than most teams they play, they just play harder.

Okay, this has to be an act. The "top tier program" part taken out of context isn't going to win the debate. I specifically talked about maintaining one in terms of moving from the program he's currently the HC at.
