I only remember the UGA game, but Tua not only was playing on the gimpy leg since the Arkansas game, but then injured the ankle in the UGA game.

Even at Alabama he set the all time ncaa record for passing efficiency, playing half the season on a gimpy leg.

In the defensive juggernaut SEC, on a gimpy leg, playing half-games all season.

He was moving fine and he was going to lose if it wasn't for the savior of hurts

I guess you're suggesting that the defenses in the Big 12 are as good as in the SEC. All I know for sure is that Alabama's defense certainly was not as good as generally is the case. Hopefully it will be better this year.

Oh look, it's another thread trying to pit Alabama fans vs Hurts.

Super Original!

With the way Jalen talks in his interviews, he brought more than just himself to Oklahoma. If they have success on this level, it's going to be because he has elevated the entire team.

And guess where he learned it?

Even at Oklahoma he's got that Built by Bama showing.

Last year SEC Rant rival fans kept proclaiming that Tua was injury prone, and now you're proclaiming he was actually fine. Never mind he had to go into the tent about every game after Arkansas to be shot up for pain with whatever they use these days.

I said no such thing. That would be stupid. A gimpy legged QB should be cannon fodder in a "defensive juggernaut" league it would seem to me, not a record setting NCAA leader who only plays half a game all season and beats everybody by 24+ points. *shrugs*

Only place OU will go is down in defeat again if they reach the playoffs. Riley can produce an offense even with a midget, but your defense will be your downfall, as ever.

I thought Jalen was going to elevate the entire team with his bama mojo.

Yeah. I see your point

You really don’t. Hurts had to come in and beat UGA, hence the taking back of the starting role. But don’t let blind gump loyalty influence your thoughts or anything.

I said moving fine. You should be happy he did go down or uga wouldve won.

But yes I believe he is a more injury prone individual. They just exist while others can keep trucking

I didn't say that. Hurts will put up gaudy numbers in your conference, but if OU reaches the playoffs, against a really good defense, that will end.

what? Tua hadn't been 100% since the Tennessee game, yet he had an all american year for himself with the highest QBR ever.

In the SEC CG, he had a severe eversion ankle sprain on the first series that would later require surgery. It directly impacted his maneuverability and accuracy. The later sprain to the right ankle in the same game was purely bad luck. Yet, Bama was still within one score even with a gimpy Tua all game before Hurts came in for the comeback story of ... EVER

Those injuries in the UGa game are the biggest things that affected his Heisman hopes. A 100% Tua was the best QB in the country, and I'm certain it would have shown through to that end had things gone differently.

That said, Bama still loses to Clemson regardless. They peaked at OU. They were not prepared or simply arrogant and got their asses kicked. Tua's tendencies and the Bama D weaknesses were exploited over and over and over again. Clemson was the best team in the country hands down over the last part of the season and into the postseason. I really think had Bama played Hurts and the run game from the onset, it would have caught Clemson off guard and given them the best shot at winning

No one is trying to pin bama fans against hurts either. I dont understand where you get that notion

If Oklahoma fans are offended by it, then cry more. This is the 3rd year in a row you're starting a transfer, so don't tell me you're great at developing QBs.

You should be thrilled about it. How terrible it is that you get a transfer from Alabama and a QB that's already experienced multiple playoffs including national championship games and wins.

Do you know what a playoff win looks like? That's right, if he leads you to even 1 playoff win it will be the first.

What the frick does Oklahoma really offer other than a conference with terrible defenses?

Well I don't see us making the playoffs at the moment so that's kind of a moot point.

Put pressure on Tua and he folds. UGA exposed him in the SECCG.
Hurts was the better QB
