It's OK if Bama wants to do that. We won a couple of others too. I think it was 1977 and some other time in the early 1900's but we don't pay a lot of attention to the past.

Whatever, better for you I guess. But IMHO the claim Alabama has to the 1964 title is one of the weakest considering they lost their final game after having an undefeated regular season....sounds all too familiar to me. Arkansas should have clearly been given the title so much so that the AP changed the way they crowned a champion.

I will take a 13 - 0, SEC championship, #1 almost the entire season, BCS Championship game and a top 10 recuriting class black eye any day of the week. I guess it's all relative for a Arkansas fan.

So you guys think you are going to win the NC in 2012 and erase the worst January of LSU's recent history?

Dunno if they will win the NC. I think they should have a really good team. Win 10+ games and have a shot at winning the SEC West is where my expectations fall for now.

You never know what you have until the season really gets rolling

Will LSU get rid of it's black eye in 2012??

With all the drama, players leaving, recruits flipping and BCSNCG beating they took, can LSU right the ship?

The only players leaving early are Brockers and Claiborne who will both be high draft choices.

Several players announced they were considering coming out early but decided to stay at LSU, including Big Sam, R.Shepard, and K.Boone.

What recruits 'flipped' except G.Kiel and T.Davis ??? L.Collins was always going to Bama.
As a matter of fact, a couple of signees flipped to COME TO LSU - K.Alexander and J.Liggins.

1964 — The 1964 Alabama Crimson Tide football team, coached by Bear Bryant, completed the regular season 10–0–0, winning the Southeastern Conference championship. Alabama was led by quarterback Joe Namath. Alabama was then invited to play the Texas Longhorns in the January 1, 1965 Orange Bowl. Coach Bryant's team lost to the Longhorns 21–17 to finish the season 10–1–0. The outstanding player of the game was Joe Namath.[85] The 1964 Alabama football team was selected national champions by the AP Poll and the Coaches' Poll prior to bowl games.[86] Because of the controversy with Alabama being selected over undefeated Arkansas, the AP Poll decided to wait until after the bowl games to select their champion for the 1965 season.

Damn skrate! The SEC was better than the SWC back then, too! We only let Texas win the bowl game because we knew it would piss off the Pigs.

Yes, and by 1964 rules of the MNC, LSU would be the 2011 national champs.

Would you like to go back to 1964 rules for determining the mythical national champion?

Personally, I love Bama's 1941 title claim. #20 in the AP poll.

I just hope we never get to the point where we think a 13-1 team that beat us 42-17 and only loss came to a team that beat them by 38-14 score is better off.
