The Cecil Newton Rule closed that little loophole.

The NCAA Legislative Council on Wednesday officially passed a new rule designating any parent as an agent if he or she is found to be soliciting the services of a son or daughter to an NCAA institution

But it didn’t close the 4 year statute of limitations the NCAA has.

Their are exceptions to this rule, and this case falls under those exceptions.

Best hope for LSU fans is that it can be shown that it was for things other than playing football etc.
