Freeman has missed the 12-team playoff 3/4 years after taking over a program that had made 2/3 4-team playoffs.

You should be worrying about that instead of LSU taking Ole Miss' coach.

Yep, but not real sure why that's relevant to this conversation. It's not a DeBoer vs Kelly discussion. So I don't see why or how it matters what DeBoer has done or hasn't done.

I don't know, Kiffin better hit the ground running though.

LSU has a fairly tough schedule in 2026.

Look he has a better roster than what Kelly had when Kelly took over the LSU football program. Kelly did leave a much desired roster for Lame Kiffin. I still think he will ended up failing to make the playoffs.

OK...so how do you say Kiffin will have a better roster when Kelly inherited a Heisman trophy winner in Jayden Daniels? You think Kiffin will have a Heisman trophy winner in his first 2 years?
idiot

Kelly didn't inherit Daniels, he inherited Nussmeier. He pulled Daniels from Arizona State in the portal, which I give him credit for.

As for the original question- will Kiffin have a better first 2 years, and the overall question of will Kiffin succeed at LSU... those can be 2 different things.

Kelly went 9-3 his first 2 years, with a trip to Atlanta in yr 1, and had a Heisman winner in year 2. Won both bowls, so 10 win seasons. Record-wise, it's a pretty high bar to surpass. I wouldn't be shocked if Lane doesn't do better on the record; but I do think he will build something more cohesive and consistent. I don't think we'll see a unit constantly fall apart and have to be fixed, like under Kelly. Kelly had a solid defense year one and an offense that was anemic. He got the offense going, and the defense fell apart. I don't think that Kiffin will have that issue.

As for

I don't expect it, but wouldn't be stunned either. Kiffin's QBs play very well, no matter who they are. If LSU is a strong playoff contender, I fully expect his QB to be in the Heisman race.

He’s posting on Texags under the same name, bashing Kiffin and LSU just like he does here.

After two years? I think it'll be about the same.
