Gumps, stop pining for LSU’s new coach. Makes you look sad and desperate.

Will Kiffin do the thing he's always done? Seems like a fool me twice, shame on me kind of thing.

People are waaaaaaay overblowing Kiffin’s coaching ability. Is he a good coach, sure. But this idea he’s about to establish a Saban like dynasty at LSU is based on absolutely zero real world data. The guy has never made the playoffs and had a 30 million dollar roster last season with an NFL QB.

I can see him making the jump for the NFL if he’s successful here 100% but he ain’t jumping to Bama or Texas if he’s busy winning titles here. Why would he?
I mean sure but let's take a realistic scenario.

2026: 9-3 type year
2027: 10-2 in the playoffs

Meanwhile Sark and/or DeBoer continue to underwhelm and get let go mid-late 2027 season

No one's pining cowgirl. We've got a coach that has us in the conference title game in his second year. But, if we wanted your coach, we'd take him. We've done it before.

Maybe. Depends on his results and the support he gets.

He spent 6 years in Oxfart. Just imagine how long he stays when he wins a natty in 2-3 years.

I personally feel that LSU is a destination job. Money talks but my only worry about Kiffin would be going back to the NFL.

Yes. And LSU should fully expect it. He's not gonna be Charlie McClendon or the Bear. We're renting him for 3-5 years. Try to get as much success as you can and be targeting the next guy in the back of your mind every season.

Absolutely.
At least he is going to use it to jack up his price.

I can only remember one LSU coach leaving for another HC job and at the time it was the best job offer a HC has ever received…Saban to the dolphins.

I’m still waiting to hear from the Gumps which HC they hired from LSU…waiting for it. Certainly they’re not just talking out of their asses…

He will be fired in 3 years if he doesn't make the playoffs. I have a feeling he's about to pull a Brian Kelly and go there for the easy buyout money.
