Oooh, good call on that.

Upvote deployed.

Ok, we'll ask it this way. Will he be the first player to win back to back D-1 playoff national championships?

I think you must mean "with different teams".

Slightly off topic:

Was Jameson Williams the first player to lose back to back national championships on two different teams?

Or does it count since he was injured?

I'm not sure why you think predicting a team other than Bama will win the national title is prideful.

Likely either him or all the UGA kids who didn’t go pro last year.

I agree, but it feels weird to hold it against him since he didn't play the entire game.

Cam Newton never won a championship at Florida. He left in December of 2008, Florida won in January of 2009

While he announced his intention to transfer 3 days before the title game, I'm pretty sure he was still on the UF roster. It's kind of like how now if you put your name in the portal, you haven't actually transferred yet.

For example, Justin Fields announced his intention to transfer before the bowl... but he was still on our roster. I think he even made the trip (though that game was the last time Smart allowed people intending to transfer or skip the bowl game to go pro to travel and dress out for a bowl game as it impeded UGA's play).

It counts but not in this context.

If they issued him a ring, then it counts. I don't know if they did or not.
