don't interview a black candidate?
As much as the SEC gets pegged for being racist when it comes to matters such as this, someone is bound to raise the question of "why didn't so-and-so get a shot?"
A say go get the best candidat you can, Florida. Unfortunately, not everyone will have the same opinion.

Considering who our DC was last year, and is this year, no.

Sumlin will take care of that for them.

They'll say what's up to Strong

If I recall correctly... Florida had a black head coach.
Charlie Strong coached the Gators in the Peach Bowl when the Ole Ball Coach resigned.

So you had a token coach for a token game?

Both Charlie Strong and Kevin Sumlin are candidates. Both may interview.

Petrino isn't black. I heard he doesn't even like black people. Bad candidate if you ask me.

Best way to word that, ever.

Actually it was after Zooker got fired. Spurr-dawg resigned after the bowl game, which was against #6 Maryland, and we kicked their arse. But other than that, I don't remember anything about it

You're right! The Zook era was a bad nightmare; I try not to relive 'em.
I think that game fills our minority quota.

And that annoys me to no end. "The SEC is racist because they don't have a history of black head coaches" would be a valid argument if any other BCS conference had such a history, but they don't. The Pac 10 has had two black head coaches. The Big XII has had one black head coach. The Big Ten has never had a black head coach. The ACC has had two. The Big East... well who cares.
And I'm pulling those coaching numbers off of the top of my head, so they may be off by a man or two, but my point remains that it's not as if there are just a ton of black head coaches out there.
Frankly, the SEC, with two black head coaches in its history, is doing as well if not BETTER than many of the other major conferences as far as hiring black coaches goes.

Dennis Green was HC at Northwestern back in the 80's. But, no recent black head coaches.
