They couldn't handle the fact that he invented football.

The same fans that talk about how shitty the history of State football is are the same ones that like say Mullen is an awful coach because he doesn't win enough.

I agree with the fact that Mullen needs to crank the program up a notch, but I think he has done a good job considering how bad the SECrant says our history is.

It would be different if he was at UF or Tenn and couldn't win. They have a strong history of winning, State doesn't.

Was his reputation also hurt by his wife? Would Tennessee look at him after this season? I do not see Arkie looking that way....

Mullen has only interviewed for a couple of jobs. Both of them have won a national championship in their past. Mullen has also turned down 3 jobs since he has been at State.

Mullen is an arrogant person. But he is a hard-working motivated person also. Mullen is a guy that will openly admit that he wants a statue of himself standing somewhere when he is done coaching. And he thinks Miss. State can be that place.

Nobody thought Jackie Sherrill would stay at State 13 years. I think people are going to be surprised at how long Mullen stays. He has the program now to the point where we will be a perennial bowl team- it's just a question of which bowl. That's a huge accomplishment at State.

As far as beating the SEC West- Who has beaten LSU , Bama, or UPig the last 2 seasons?

We lost to Kentucky and Mississippi the year before he got the job- and havent lost to them since. He is elevating the program from the bottom of the SEC. We are now a middle of the pack SEC team. State is not Bama or LSU- it is harder to win at State. It takes time to change the culture of the program. And he is doing that.

Mullen did not talk to Penn State in fact the day the links claim he was in State College interveiwing, Dave Joyner (the acting AD) was in Idaho begging Chris Petersen to take the gig.

Both years we lost at Auburn- they finished with more wins than we did.

The year we played at home- they won the National Championship

Last season was a winnable game- and it was disappointing not to pull it off. But I will be more concerned if we lose to Auburn this year in Starkville.

Mullen does have to pulling off some bigger SEC wins, but he is only 3 years in- and he had the bad luck of joining the SEC West when it is at its absolute peak. We get 2 legit shots at home with Auburn and UPig this season

That shot was a 390 yard hole-in-one. He had to take a little off the swing so he wouldn't over-drive the pin.

You can put Auburn in that list, too. Who has beaten Auburn? Last season, AU only lost to teams that won 10 games or more. They year before, they were undefeated national champs.

That "hasn't beaten anyone in the West other than Ole Miss" is an ignorant, irrelevant statistic. Especially coming from Ole Miss fans, as it only makes them look worse.
