I'm sure this is a tongue-in-cheek comment but it does raise an interesting question. If Saban left for another job instead of finishing his career at Alabama, how bad would be backlash be? Would the success he's had thus far outweigh the negative reaction?

Seeing as there will always be some wanting to fire him after a loss, I'd say it would be pretty bad.

I'd be ok with it and would be appreciative of what he's done.

What if it was to Cleveland then 2 years later came back to Auburn or Tennessee?

Paul Bryant and George Denny are the two most important figures in Alabama's football program, in my opinion. The name of the stadium will never change. I'm not in favor of naming the field after anyone either. I think a street name near the stadium may be appropriate one day.

Why not?

It's conceivable that he could end up winning more games and more NCs than Bear.

Just saying Saban has more impact on Alabama's history than say Gene Stallings, especially when he wins a third championship

He still wouldn't have a bigger impact than Wade.

I would say you don't know until it happens. If Saban were in orange and blue (or orange and white) and beating the shite out of Alabama on his way to another national championship, I think the feelings of respect and appreciation would start to break down.

I agree stadium should be Bryant-Denny for good. A street named after him would be pretty cool. Can't be too upset if they name it Saban field though

Ok but you can't tell me with a straight face that your fan base wouldn't have some issues if that happened

Yes. He has to do what's best for him and his family. He brought us out of a terrible era in our history. I'll forever be grateful for that. I'll hope he loses every game because, but I already hope Tennessee loses every game.

No, but just like every other successful program, there's a lot of dumb fans in the fanbase.
