$abun already had ashot in the NFL and quit. Any team that contacted him deserves to get a quitter. It wont happen.

What will happen is a school like Penn State or ND willcome calling and at the very least Sexton will further rape the gumps or $abun may take the job.

Saban isn't a Bama Fan.

Why? Because he didn't attend the university? Hell, that can be said for the majority of HC's out there.

also, the way I heard it in 2007, when Les Miles was considering jumping to Mich., Saban had contacts with LSU about the potential open position. That's just what I heard.

That's right!!! it can be said of the majority of HC's and that's why you see so many of them taking other head coaching jobs. Where is Pete Carroll? Don't you think he had one of the top 3 coaching jobs at USC? Where is Steve Spurrier, why isn't he still at Florida? The days of Woody Hayes and Bear Bryant are far behind us.

Lighten up a little, didn't you catch the "That's just what I heard" comment? Also, i did hear it from my barber, who was also Saban's barber in Baton Rouge. I also have the brother to Saban's dog (the boxer) from the same liter.

Sorry, you misread me a little, and I wasn't very clear...I wasn't directing the "ignorant" line at YOU...I was just commenting on the tendency for people to repeat the things they "heard" like it is some kind of fact.

Ok, I'm with you now. I knew throwing that out there was a bit over board.

I imagine Bama would throw the bank at Jim Harbaugh, Mark Da'tonio (Saban disciple), or Al Golden. No more assistant coach hires.

Btw, Dallas would be dumb to not go after Bill Cowher.

Seriously - if I am the Cowboys, why do I want Saban? The Cowboys need a proven winner to come in and fix things, they want to win now, why would they take a chance on a great college coach who failed terribly as an NFL coach instead of a proven NFL coach.

Also, Jones & Saban are both control freaks, I'm not sure how well they would mesh.

Honestly - why would the Cowboys want him? If I was a Cowboys fan I would not be excited about taking a chance on hiring Saban.

The reason I'd like to see Saban leave Bama is not for reducing Bama's staus or increasing LSU's possibilities to beating Bama. It's to show a few Bama fans I know that Saban will always look at the next offer and consider it. Saban isn't a Bama Fan. He's a Bama coach getting paid for a job that he does well. If Jerry Jones comes a calling, Saban will listen and consider his offer. Also, if he does not like the Cowboys offer, Saban will use it as leverage for more money from Bama. Personally, I think Saban will be interested in second try at the one thing he was not successful

I think this is pretty much any coach out there these days. There are a few exceptions, but most are looking out for themselves.

You are confused. Coaches jump ship to make it up the ladder. You know, to make it to an elite job, LIKE BAMA.

In light of the high possibilities of Nick Saban going to the Dallas Cowboys

This is a rumor started by Jimmy Sexton.

Jones offers Saban 10mm per year.
Bama matches offer.
Sexton gets richer.

we'll still be better of than LSU with Miles. He's sopped up every bit of the Saban gravy...his coaching ability plate is looking a little bare.
Just wanted to mark this thread to bump after bama gets beat in TS to bring Miles's record to 2-2 against little nicky.
