There were some entertaining Thursday night games last year--almost all of which were "Saturday worthy."

You might be right, although I think that game was rescheduled midway through the season to allow for more prep time for the Iron Bowl?

Maybe it's considered gimmicky and Alabama doesn't need to resort to it to get on TV. I can absolutely see us needing to it pre-Saban.

Alabama played at TAMU December 1, 1988 in a make up game, the "Hurricane Bowl".
