Think AU has 7 legit titles.

Bama may have 4, but certainly not more.

Alabama was the 8th choice for the rose bowl in 1925 after the top 7 teams all said no thanks.

quote:

Their regular season complete, all that was left for Alabama was to wait for the Rose Bowl bid they simply had to have to be considered nationally relevant. 8-0 Dartmouth, 7-0-2 Colgate, and 5-1-1 Princeton turned down invitations, and 7-1 Michigan, 5-3 Illinois, and 5-2-1 Yale appear to have rebuffed inquiries as well, so the Rose Bowl committee looked Southward, but first to Alabama's Southern Conference co-champion 9-0-1 Tulane. Unlike Alabama, Tulane had already established national relevance by tying Missouri Valley champion Missouri (6-1-1) and by going up to Chicago and beating 5-3 Northwestern 18-7 (Northwestern gave 7-1 Michigan their only loss). But Tulane also turned down the Rose Bowl, citing concern over the students being out of class for the long trip out West and back. The Rose Bowl bid thus fell to Alabama,

If you throw out everything but AP national titles + BCS forward, we have several more than anyone.

As for the Rose Bowl, the champions of the West were always there... whose asses we beat.
So maybe Minnesota turned down the bid. Of course they were rated higher. The national media saw southern football as shite before we went west and beat that arse for a few years.

You ungrateful Auburn piece of SE Alabama manure. Bama made southern football, and Is the sole reason for any small significance your “team” enjoys. And you have the audacity to say we have three or four legitimate titles.

Envy is a pathetic and disgusting thing. Every Joe Palooka from Palookaville parses throuth Bama’s countless titles trying to find loopholes, while keeping their trophies in a phone booth.

LSU's 2007 two loss team, is the luckiest team to ever win the Title.

That's fine, they were also better than all but 2 of those teams per anyone who does a hard look at the results of the season.

I know. Bama wasn't even supposed to be there. Southern teams got no respect, they were gonna take all these blue bloods with losses over an undefeated Alabama. They didn't even belong on the same field with Washington. You know what happened next?

Simple...

1. Because AU is bamas daddy.

2. Because I'm just making shite up to annoy some of you guys in this arbitrary discussion and 7 sounded good to me for AU and 4 sounded good to me for bama :)

The lack of links is interesting too. Certainly not ITAT?

Well, everyone knows bama has a lot if national titles. More than 10, less than the 16 or 17 or whatever the claimed number is.

Somewhere in between, and then it's just a pissing match on the number. Something we've done many times here, so just threw out some arbitrary ridiculous numbers for levity.

I was replying to the guy talking about the tip top 25 site. It's just a copy paste from there which is a really good site.

If Auburn's gonna stretch and claim 7, Bama can actually stretch and claim about 29. I think that's about where some of the record books have us

Don't forget the Patrick Peterson interception in 2009 that likely keeps Alabama out of the SEC championship.

I love how this has turned into a 10 point game winning touchdown as time expired over the years

And in this case, even puts hypothetical 6-2 LSU into the SECCG over hypothetical 7-1 Alabama.
