Nah, I practice Nuwaubianism. I was a member of the Church of Saban before it shut down.

Sitting in the upper deck on November 5th was the problem then because I was in the east upper deck of Tiger Stadium in 2008 when yall blocked the last second field goal and it wasn't very loud at all from up there. I also think the horrendous offensive display made it a lot harder for the crowd to get loud as there were almost zero big momentum plays.

I also think the biggest thing that holds BDS back from being consistently louder is that Alabama fans noise wise tend to be more reactive than proactive like LSU, Florida, and Auburn fans. BDS can and does get incredibly loud but only in small stretches and only when the defense really needs a big stop. Alabama games have always been much louder historically when we've either been a home underdog or when we've had little chance to win and little to lose. 2003 Oklahoma and 2005 Florida were incredibly loud games in these categories that stand out.

Good for you, Barner. Nobody - and I mean nobody or no organization - thinks that. JH isn't even in the conversation.

The loudest game I've ever attended was AU-UF at JHS in 2006. The second loudest was UA-LSU 2011. BDS looks great and JHS needs some work to get the exterior up to the BDS level. However, I like the interior of JHS - especially the field - much better.

Of course, as an Auburn fan, I'll always enjoy JHS more than any other stadium.

In my opinion, I don't think JHS should expand at all. We really do have a problem selling out some of the smaller games as it is. I think they should focus on major renovations and keep the capacity where it is.

I've never found Tiger Stadium to be all that loud but what I do appreciate is the tradition there. You can just feel that it's different as soon as you step in. I especially love the pregame and how involved everyone is in the band cheers.

Regarding bands, I think the Million Dollar Bands sucks. I'm surprised that a program with as much tradition as Alabama doesn't have very many traditional cheers and songs.

The best part for me was, I was there with my cousin, who's a UF fan. We even managed to get a "War Eagle" out of him after the game.

Agree with this. Exterior is an eyesore. Just some minimal updates could improve appearance.

Is there any talk of major renovations, expansion or both?

but the only time I've been in Neyland it was dead quiet. It probably helped that we sent most of the Tenner fans home by halftime (2004 ).

I was there, this is so true!

I'm not sure. The only talk I've heard was when Jay Jacobs said expansion wasn't planned for the immediate future. Speaking of eyesores, though, the endzone exteriors at BDS are top notch but the the exteriors around the sidelines still aren't much better than JHS.

(on my phone so copy and paste sucks)

To put an opinion and answer to a few statements on this page:

Yeah the MDB hasn't really had a good band director in a few years. Back before 04? the band director we had was off the charts and had the band winning awards every year. No so much now.

As for the answer to "what was said for 10 pages" it started out with Mike Wilbon saying that JHS is the best college stadium in the country. Which is his opinion, but with people asking "based on what?" I can see why he said it many people believe that it has one of the best atmospheres. I wouldn't really know because the only time I've been AU lost and they were demoralized. But for me I've had a better time at Neyland. ( I know right) More so from before and after the game because of the food. Swamp was a wierd stadium and actually had a horrible run in with a fan who was throwing stuff at my friends and I from a gated bar as we were walking up to the game. TS was fun other than the fact that the LSU fan next to me enjoyed the taste of his on dip spit. And of course BDS where I always have fun, but like I have stated early in the thread we have a lot of fans that enjoy the comfort of their palms than actually cheering for the team. Not to mention for a few years there UA faculty were selling their tickets to opposing fans. Which the university put a stop to now. All in all I would still put JHS in my top 5 just not 1 over all. But my list switches in and out all the time.

He would have had to have been talking about the atmosphere because I have been there twice and can say with perfect honesty that the stadium layout itself is shitty. Want refreshments? Sorry...you have to walk all the way down to the lower level. Want a bathroom break? Sorry...lower level. Bryant-Denny has multiple bathrooms and concession stands on every level of the stadium. BDS is more like a pro stadium than a college stadium, I just wish it would have the atmosphere to match. Like an above poster said, BDS is never continuously loud unless we're the underdog at home. However when we get loud, we get freaking loud. See the moments just before and just after Rocky Block for an example. But the problem with that is that is one moment during the game. It never stays that loud.

I know what mean by not staying loud. That's why I can't stand a nice majority of our fans. They don't want to cheer during the game yet they'll run their mouths and act like dicks before and after the game.
